For many of us residing in Crown Heights for the last 30 years, the International Chocolate and Almond Corp., aka The Kosher Candy Store, was a familiar stop on our, shpatzir (walk) down Kingston Ave.. Mr. Isac Zellemaier, OB"M was often seen outside his store which he ran with his brother Heshy, was always looking to see how he could help improve the neighborhood in general and the lot of those who needed assistance in particular. He did this tirelessly and without fanfare while running the store and raising his family in Boro Park.

Thursday: Event Honoring Issac Zellemaier OBM

For many of us residing in Crown Heights for the last 30 years, the International Chocolate and Almond Corp., aka The Kosher Candy Store, was a familiar stop on our, shpatzir (walk) down Kingston Ave.. Mr. Isac Zellemaier, OB”M was often seen outside his store which he ran with his brother Heshy, was always looking to see how he could help improve the neighborhood in general and the lot of those who needed assistance in particular. He did this tirelessly and without fanfare while running the store and raising his family in Boro Park.

Although, to our deep regret we will no longer see that friendly face as we make our way down the Avenue, we as a community would like to show our respectful acknowledgement of the good works that he did, by attending an upcoming tribute in which his family will be honored with several awards from community and elected officials,. This is an opportunity as a community, to give our hakoras hatov to Isac’s family and dear wife, who selflessly supported his work in the community for over three decades.

All are welcome to attend this tribute, BS”D, this coming Thursday evening at 7:30pm at the 71`st Precinct Community Council Meeting, taking place at MS 61, 400 Empire Blvd., where he served as a liaison for the past 30 years. Please keep in mind that the meeting will begin with general business after which the memorial will take place.
