Picture of the Day: A Red Telephone in 770

A new red box with a telephone was installed in downstairs 770 with a direct line to Hatzalah for use in case of an emergency. CrownHeights.info was told that this was done after the payphones had been removed and should Hatzalah’s assistance be needed, there is a way – aside from shouting – to call for their help.

The phone was installed by Boruch Raksin and Yitzy Vail, and was made possible by Zalman Chein, who also donated the difibulator located above the phone, and Mendy Gorodetsky.

Very important – this phone will minimize chillul shabbos, and expedite Hatzoloh’s response. Tizku l’mitzvos to all who donated, and were involved!

  • Thanks-about time!

It is something that is needed in every public place and should be halachacally required. It probably is.

Moishie – as if chillul shabbos is an issue if Hatzolah is needed.
Now we just need more people to be trained in first aid so that the first steps in the chain of survival can begin befor Hatzolah arrives. You see that defibrillator? That’s not for Hatzolah – it’s for trained bystanders. If anyone reading this doesn’t know how to use one then you need to learn ASAP.
