Picture of the Day: Old Classmates Reunite
Rabbi Noach Gansburg, Shliach to S. Paulo, Brazil and Rabbi Levi Gorelik of Crown Heights were classmates in their hometown in Italy almost 50 years ago. Today, they bumped into each other on Kingston Ave., where they caught up with each other’s lives and reminisced about the good old days.
Rabbis Gansburg and Gorelik were classmates in the Chabad Cheder in Milan from Kindergarten through the 11th grade in the 1960s. When it came time for them to enroll in Yeshiva, the boys parted ways: Rabbi Gansburg went to learn in Brunoy, France, while Rabbi Gorelik travelled to the United States to study in Pittsburgh.
As thousands of Shluchim flock to Crown Heights from all over the world for the annual Kinus, many similar reunions occur on a regular basis.
