From Days Gone By: Rabbi Yosef Visits Shluchim in Italy
In 1978, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, then Chief Sephardic Rabbi of Israel, visited Milan, Italy, where he met with the leaders of the local Chabad community at the home of Rabbi Moshe Lazar.
Rabbi Lazar’s son, Berel, later to become Chief Rabbi of Russia, was a 14-year-old bochur at the time.
