Picture of the Day: ULY Adds New Basketball Hoops
Ahead of the new school year, United Lubavitcher Yeshiva on Crown Street re-appropriated the two grass patches in front of their building as brand-new basketball courts for the students to enjoy during recess.

they did it like 2 months ago…!
Bad spot
The ball is going over the fence every recess.
Not Chess Players
I’m sure the residents will love the noise especially when kids play after hours. May also attract non-Jewish …. v’dal.
ugly
Prettier with grass!

Thank you rabbi Davis
mom
Hooray – the boys need to run around a bit.
Stupid Move
Makes place look trashy
Yehuda
What is it with the Jewish war on grass and green spaces?!
whoo!

CH homeowner...
I agree! We don’t need more concrete – we need grass and trees! Did the boys have no where else to play?
To # 5
Actually Rabbi Davis had nothing to do with this. I heard that the hardworking PTA sponsored this project.
Krume Kup
Why couldnt they at least make the court straight?

fantastic- just what we needed. imagine, a picture of the front of toimche temimim with 2 basket ball hoops .no where else to put it!!!!
FACTS
you people have nothing else to do then to banter the yeshiva. instead of saying kol hakovod for giving the students a place to play and get out their energy. this is brooklyn afterall we are limited with space so give it up people. if you dont like it move elsewhere. this is NYC and the Rebbes Shechune. if we all just had a bit of ahavas yisroel and love for our brethren we might all be better off. enough of this darn hatred grow up. if you are not happy with oneself seek professional help. if you want to get back at the yeshiva for wronging you for some odd weird reason the best revenge is success…… if you stay bitter inside the person or people that affected you have won. so show them better and be the better person.

gross, the last patch of green grass in crown heights was just destroyed….
mom
Its sad to see that people always have something not nice to say. If you have nothing nice to say, just don’t say anything –
For the students of ULY, this is a great move! THANK YOU ULY !!!
mom 2
I was so disappointed when they tore up the grass. The kids loved running around on it!
A parent
Thank you!
happy parent
thank you uly! our boys most definitely needed this – when the boys can exercise their gashmius they can learn much better!!!
all the complainers, feel free to donate money to add another floor so the grass can be replanted
mom
I cant believe people complain about this. You want green – you are a stones throw from Park Slope. Go green all you want. Our boys want to run around and shoot hoops, get some quick exercise and maybe be better able to sit and learn thereafter.
just asking
and this is a big deal?
