yisroel shemtov has made some of the most creative gartels I have ever seen.

some of his great work is on display at the museum of spontaneous gartels.

He stretches his ruler this way and then no wander why the clothes come out oversized :)

  • WEIGHT WATCHERS

I can see this used as an ad for Weight Watchers- “watching your weight and waistsize for older rabbis too”!

When he makes a gartel out of hair from a barber shop floor then i will be impressed

  • hmmmmm

Geez, let me think for a minute… this is a tough one…. could it be the tape measure?????

Well, his beard is a bit whiter than it was the last time I saw him, but I think it’s that there apparently is a minyan going on and there seem to be at least two people talking in R’ Yisroel’s presence while there is a minyan going on.

(BTW, bit of history here–the reason he goes around 770 telling people to be quiet is because decades ago the Rebbe gave everyone over the head for talking in shul and they formed some sort of “shtikah committee,” but they all faded away and gave up because people kept talking–except R’ Yisroel.)

No matter what situation he finds himself in, Reb Yisroel always measures up to the challenge!

Actually, I heard Reb Yisrolik is opening a women’s custom tailor shop. He therefore carries that tape measure to measure women’s and girls’ hemlines at every simcha so he can force tznius violators to come to his new shop for proper clothing.

And anyone who believes that can have a 90% discount coupon at the new “Izzy’s Not So Short” shop on the corner of Kingston and Troy.
