Tishrei in Mechina L’Mesivta — Living Tishrei the Tomchei Temimim Way
The Mechina division of Tomchei Temimim experienced an uplifting and action-packed Tishrei, filled with learning, inspiration, and hands-on Chassidishe activities.
Throughout the month, Talmidim took part in the Tishrei Challenge, a full schedule of programs designed to help them live the Yomim Tovim with true Hiskashrus and excitement.
Before Rosh Hashana, the Talmidim gathered for a special presentation by Rabbi Sholom Tenenbaum, who shared the background and significance of the Rebbe’s Tekios and taught the boys how to blow Shofar properly. In preparation for the Yomim Noroim, the talmidim learned the Tefillos and sang together with Rabbi Shmueli and Choni Tzuker, whose Niggunim inspired the entire division.
On both days of Rosh Hashana, the Bochurim took to the streets on Mivtza Shofar, ensuring that every yid within reach heard the Shofar blowing!
In the days leading up to Yom Kippur, the Talmidim delved into the topic of Teshuva, watched a video of the Rebbe’s Brocha on Erev Yom Kippur and joined a heartfelt Birchas Habonim. They also enjoyed a fascinating Shechita presentation by Rabbi Ezagui, who shared his experiences, displayed various types of Chalafim, and explained how each one is used. His hands-on demonstration brought halacha and avodah to life in a powerful and memorable way.
As Sukkos approached, the energy only grew stronger. The Talmidim built a huge Sukkah Mobile!. Each day of Yom Tov and Chol Hamoed was spent on Mivtza Lulav, as the boys set out across the neighborhood to help Yidden perform this precious mitzvah.
On Sukkos nights the Mechina division had Farbrengens, where stories, Niggunim, and heartfelt words filled the Sukkah, creating lasting memories and deepening each Talmid’s connection to the Rebbe.
During Sukkos, the Talmidim participated in a Mivtza Torah, accumulating countless hours of learning on their own.
When they returned to Yeshiva after Yom Tov, the boys were rewarded for their hard work and participation in the Tishrei Challenge with a special ice-skating trip!
The entire month of Tishrei in Mechina L’Mesivta was a living example of the Tomchei Temimim Way — combining Limud HaTorah, Avodas HaTefillah, and Mivtzoim with Simcha. The atmosphere of Chayus and Hiskashrus continues to carry the Talmidim forward into the new year — Hecher un Hecher, higher and higher.
