the point of the holocaust float was to show that even in the lowest places and the hardships of the holocaust, people were able to serve hashem with happiness by putting on tefillin. if you look closely you can see someone in the middle wearing a tallis and tefillin.

Can someone explain or describe the float with the Statue of Liberty and the Hebrew/English sign saying “America is no different”. Is this the same float with the Russian soldier? I’m guessing it describes leaving Russia to come here, but why is there a sign saying “America is no different”? thanks.

  • No Big Maven but..

    Dear Kugelly:
“America is no different” was a counter answer said by the Fredicker rebbe when he came to america. People who came America were being lax in Torah and Mitzvos ie Shabbos and Yeshievos etc. and gave an excuse saying “America is different”. This still applies today.

  • PRIORITIES

If anyone has rude comments or unconstructive critisism, please keep it to yourself. As the Rebbe said in the sicha they played at the parade, AHAVAS YISROEL is the key we’re missing here. Let’s all try to remember that.
