Moshiach and Hakhel: Over 2,000 at General Session
Thousands of Shluchim gathered in the Bedford-Union Armory in Crown Heights for a day of sessions on topics ranging from Chassidus to family care. They later sat down for lunch while listening to a session on Moshiach and Hakhel.
Previously hosted in the Brooklyn Marriott, organizers moved the events to the Armory – which in the past played host to be the Kinus Hashluchim and Shluchos banquets and is just a short walking distance from the neighborhood.
At 2:00pm over 2,000 Shluchim sat down for lunch and a general session titled “The Rebbe’s Campaign for Hakhel and Moshiach.” Chairing the event was Rabbi Yaakov Barber, Shliach in Melbourne, Australia, who opened the session with a video of the Rebbe speaking about Hakhel and Moshiach.
Rabbi Yosef Greenberg, Shliach in Anchorage, Alaska, spoke about the mission of Shluchim to bring Moshiach through actions that the Rebbe demanded with clear instructions.
Rabbi Shmuel Greisman, Chairman of the Children’s Sefer Torah Initiative from Jerusalem, Israel, spoke about the Rebbe’s instruction in 1981 to have every child represented in a Sefer Torah of Unity, by each one having a letter in that Torah. He linked it to recent events with “the madman” and his quest for nuclear weapons then and today.
Rabbi Alter Tenenbaum, Shliach in Irvine, California, spoke about actually bringing into action the hachlatos for a previous Kinus of hosting learning groups over the phone.
