Schools Unite for Exhibit on Plagues

Bnos Chomesh Academy welcomed students from Lamplighters Yeshiva to participate in an exhibit featuring the Ten Plagues, in honor of this week’s Parsha.

The BCA high school students have been studying the sedras of Va’eira and Bo in Chumash. As a culmination of their studies, the girls created displays depicting different aspects of the Makos. The students were divided into groups and each group researched different meforshim and divrei Chassidus relating to that Makah. They then created beautiful visual displays that brought the Makah to life.

Lamplighters students braved the windy weather to come view the Makos displays. Imagine their surprise when they were treated to “mint frogs” at the Tzfardaya display and chocolate coins at the Choshech table! The children watched a slideshow about how the animals tore up the land of Mitzrayim during the makah of Arov, and walked underneath a swarm of locusts in the Arbeh corner.

A huge yasher koach goes to BCA’s dynamic and dedicated Chumash teachers, Miss Chani Telsner, Mrs. Esther Greenspan and Mrs. Mushka Morozow for spearheading and guiding the project from beginning to end. And of course a great big thank you to the creative and talented students of Bnos Chomesh who are now experts on the topic of the Makos.

Some of the Makos projects will be on display this Sunday from 2-4 pm during Bnos Chomesh’s open house. The open house is for prospective high school students for the 2014-2015 school year.
