Parade Staff & NYPD Thanked at Parade Luncheon

by A. Cohen

A special Luncheon was held today at the Jewish Children’s Museum, to honor those who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of The Great Parade this past Lag B’omer.

Rabbi Shimon Hecht together with Rabbi Sholom Ber Baumgarten thanked members of the NYPD for their dedication to the event and their support to guarantee the safety of our community and its visitors. Commanding Officer of Brooklyn South, Chief Joseph Fox, spoke of his pride in being a partner in a day of happiness and unity, and made mention of the Rebbe, and how Lag B’omer parades were something he cherished.

After a resounding applause and a standing ovation, the NYPD officers in attendance received a token of appreciation from the parade committee as did the many volunteers and staff. A special Parade album was also given out as a memento of the day.

Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum, then went on to mention a few volunteers and staff by name, thanking them publicly for their dedication to this project.

  • curious??

Who thanks the organizers? I guess their thanks comes from the many brochos they surely get from the Rebbe! Yasher Koach to you all!

  • tipshim

The only plaque I would give them, would be the tickets that our community gets, from their selfishness. Go ahead and lick their mechutonim, see how far that will get you, when you really need their help. Just plain SUCKERS.

  • I spy Musia Mendelson!!

WOw! Great speech Mussia, so nice to see you! (your friends from Ashkelon)

  • Standing Ovation

Everyone deserves a standing ovation and I’m sure they all got one, but MOSHE RAICHICK really deserves all the credit. This parade would’ve never happened without him!

  • a fan

The parade couldn’t have happened without all your work and efforts !!! Great job Mordey!

  • Girls speech

Is there better sound for the girls speech…….it looks like it was an awesome speech

  • New Zip Code

Simonetti got so Big and full of himself,
the state Should Designate New ZIP CODE just for him.

  • a gym?

looks like it was a very nice event but maybe they should have givin the cops treadmills instead of whatever they gave them.
seriously, is being fat a requirement for the nypd now?

  • Cop Critic

I consider myself a big cop critic and will not hold back when I feel they’ve done wrong. However, for the parade this year, they really really went above and beyond. Without the 71st, the great parade this year would have been on the service lane only!

It’s embarrassing to see the kinds of comments people post here. Chabad usually considers themselves (I cannot use the word ourselves) as “non judgmental” and “excepting” of others, yet the bitterness and hatred is so, that even when credit is due for a beautiful event, they must rear their ugly heads and voices.

    Your true colors shine today…..
