Photos: Oholei Torah Hosts Lively Book Fair

In honor of Hey Teves, the Oholei Torah PTA gave a full program to the talmidim from Grades pre 1a-8, including a Seforim Sale, a overview of the Rebbeim’s Seforim, a hands on exhibition on how ink is made, a Chinese auction and a presentation of antique seforim.

The students were able to purchase a wide variety of seforim at wholesale cost, or even below wholesale cost, thanks to the sponsorship from the PTA fund and the various publishing houses.

Prizes for the auction were sponsored jointly by parents and the PTA, which included seforim, pictures of Rebbeim, a seforim Shaffe and many more exciting prizes connected with Hey Teves.

A most remarkable showing was the first print of the Tur printed in Venice 450 years ago, with the original marks of the censorship of the king.

An ink exhibition gave the students an insight in how ink is made, and of the development of how seforim are printed from years ago till today.

Students also received special stickers with their names to place in their newly purchased seforim.

The fair was organized, sponsored and run by the PTA mothers, and OTEG, Oholei Torah Eighth Grade ran the various booths and presentations of the Rebbeim’s seforim.

This is the 9th year of the PTA sponsoring this successful event, enhancing the school spirit in anyway it can!
