My brother was in the semicha program with him in miami and once before a hard test his chavrusa the bochur who usually helped him prepare for his tests couldn’t make it, he came over to my brother and said,“come let me help you study”, my brother was so thankful and wanted to pay him but he refused.

I never met Nosson, and I am in awe…
Moshe tried to console Aharon after Nadav and Avihu were taken. Moshe tells Aharon, Hashem said “bikroivai ekodesh”, now I know Hashem’s reference to those who were close to me, was not me or you, it was Nadav and Avihu. Yet Aharon’s ‘response’ was Vyidom Aharon – silent like a stone.
I never met Nosson, and I am speechless…
We’ve had more than enough of bekroivai ekodesh! Enough pain! Enough tears! AD MOSAI!
Yet stones are not only speechless, they are solid and unwavering. We must be stronger than ever to fill Nosson’s HUGE void. We must be stronger than ever to fill his missing chayos, his missing love, his missing Tanya bp, his missing hasmodo, and his missing hiskashrus, his missing friendships… And Hashem should heal the shattered hearts of his mother, his siblings and dear Deitsch family with the healing of bilo hamoves lonetzach, vhokitzu viyiranenu shochnei ofor, vehu besoichom together with the Rebbe NOW!!!

When we lived in Toronto, Toby and Mendel Bernstein of Chabad was our Shul. They are a truly kind and wonderful family. We are very sad to hear the tragic news.

You said we have to fill in his huge void….and the tanya he new….nosson new the entire “LIKUTAI AMURIM TANYA” WORD FOR WORD!

  • Heartbroken

I’ve cried so much over the past few days since nosson’s passing, that I feel like all my tears are dried up forever. I knew nosson, though he was not a relative nor was I as close as other people were to him, but my heart is still crying even though my eyes can’t cry anymore

There is no such thing as a smart accident. In this case the results are tragic and beyond wasteful. We fear Hashem but we also must fear his creations and we must learn to understand how the world we live in works. Overpowered jet skis and motorcyles can be dangerous if used in proximity to others because there is a lack of physical protection around us as there would be in a boat or a car in comparison. Yeshivas must broden their curiculums so that every Bocher has knowledge of how this world works and learns respect for things that can hurt himself or others. Hashem will protect us but he also protects those who protect themselves. The talmud teaches us that at least once we should be able to say that the entire world was created for me – we have to ensure that this event is not also our last moment on this earth.
