Bring back Avraham Fried
I could not, and still cannot figure Lipa out, One second he was looking like a rock star, the next second like something else, I don’t know what..I was like the whole time thinking-who is this guy???I’m one of those that felt Soul 2 Soul needed a change but last night I wished we were back with Avraham Fried. Avraham Fried is US-he’s our community, always inspiring..I did not come away inspired last night..(Can we do MBD, Shweky, maybe?)The Chasdei Zehavi Foundation does do AMAZING work and I’m so glad I attended anyway.YASHER KOACH!!!

Dear Mrs. Holy
I do believe you need to refer back to the great OpEd on this site a few weeks back “To Beard or Not To Beard”.
You disgust me.
Thanks for the laugh

My entire family enjoyed it immensely. Lipa certainly did his research and performed incredibly. I like the idea of new entertainment each year. This soul to soul was a truly successful event. Lipa was a great choice!
looks more like a play than a concert!
looks like it was fun, but why did lipa change his clothes so much? his wardrobe is kinda strange….
Lipa fan
attended and has a great time! Why always bad reports? He did a wonderful job of showing how great Lubavitch is – great research. I felt proud to be Lubavitch.

I came back in a great mood – I loved every minute of this fun and fast moving concert. Yasher Koach for the great job! Lipa connected fabulously with the audience and gave us a super evening!

Menachem,
Thanks for the heads up on the article “To beard or no to beard”. I did not see it when it came out but read through it now in it’s entirety, comments included.
My conclusion is that the bulk of the comments were written by those that feel wearing a full beard by a Lubavitcher is a basic belief in Chabad chassidus. Full stop. This has nothing to do with Ahavas Yistoel, or Achdus. And certainly nothing to do with Bais Shmuel or 770 for thzt matter. So don’t make a whole cholent out of this.
I wrote my comment in jest, as a witty and somewhat sarcastic response to the photos that I viewed of Lipas concert. I’m almost sorry that I wrote about the removal of one’s beard in a joking manner. My son has also “lost” his beard along the way and I don’t find it in the least bit funny. And neither do my parents who’s generation sacrificed their lives in Communist Russia for the sake of their beards.
I will agree to the fact that we are obliged to get to the bottom of this. Why are our chidren running off course in droves? Why are they shaving their beards? Baring their bodies? It’s an insidious disease that has invaded our youth like bacteria from a gangrenous limb.
Enough said. If I can’t do anything positive about it I should just keep my mouth shut. Sorry to have disgusted you. There’s a lot out there that disgusts me too. Lets leave it at that.

Why does everything always end up as an argument? Here we have a great event to support a truly worthwhile cause, a concert that not only brought pleasure to the community but supported OUR special-needs kids & as always, we have people like “Menachem” & “Mom on President St/Mrs. Holy” arguing about beards!!!
And then there are people crying & wringing their hands that Moshiach hasn’t yet come.
Are you really surprised??? If we can’t have Achdus over this beautiful concert we will NEVER have Achdus. And Moshiach WILL NOT COME!!
To the Goldmans: you are dedicated individuals who achieve miracles every day. I am sorry your work is debased by these ignorant, self-righteous, and bitter people.

I can tell you very simply. Three points:
1) The lack of Ahavas Yisroel within Chabad
2) The lack of professional teachers to instill a genuine love of Yiddishkiet, Chassidus, and the true meaning of life in our children.
3) Some parents who don’t act correctly to instill a genuine love of Yiddishkiet, Chassidus, and the true meaning of life in our children.
What do you think? If any of the three above are missing, then that’s when the problems start.

I love u PASSIONATE ppl, lol
Whatever!
I think there should be an ad on crownheights.info that is titled “voice your opinion and argue with fellow Lubavitchers” that way no-one will have to ruin anything positive that is actually done amongst us, with petty arguments…

To ‘mom from President’:
I agree with all of your points.
But historically keeping one’s beard was never a cause for Mesiras Nefesh.
There are poiskim (not ours) that allow it, remember.
