The text of the letter that was mailed by Shlomo L. to “Rabbi O” in Tzfas Israel

Dear Rabbi O

I would like to express to you the gratitude and the appreciation I have for you, your family, and your yeshiva.

Even though what you did for me was so great therefore it can’t truly be put into words, but I’ll try my best. As you know when I first arrived to YNS I was confused and lost in direction. I didn’t know what path I really wanted to take. I was just trying to figure out where I should belong and perhaps what I was supposed to be doing.

I also came to your yeshiva as a bochur that has a lot of nisyonos, tests and I never really thought into the consequences of these things. But the more I was at your yeshiva and the more I spoke to you I realized how lucky I am to be a Chabad Chossid a Chossid of the Rebbe and somebody that has the capabilities to accomplish tremendous amounts of good and affect my surroundings in a good way. I realized that being mekushar to the Rebbe is so important and how it completely transforms your life and makes you feel like you are fulfilling your mission. The times we sat together by farbrengens singing the Yechidus niggun of the Rebbe and me crying telling you I want to be a chassidishe bochur a bochur mekushar to the Rebbe because I feel, I know that’s the emes.

I want to thank you for spending those countless hours with me in your office instilling in me the right way and valuable lessons for lifetime. Boruch Hashem I was able to really contemplate on what we spoke about and come to the realization that everything one does affects his future. So if one fools around and does bad things now in his teenage years it will affect his future greatly in a negative way and he is just undermining himself. But if one puts in the time and energy now to do what’s right and to sit and learn and to work on him self to become a better more aiydel, chassidishe, bochur it’ll pay off unbelievably in the future. Unfortunately some teenagers wake up and realize this when its very late and its much harder to change but thanks to you Rabbi O I was able to come to this realization early and start working on myself. As I work on myself more and more to become a chassidishe bochur I just feel that this is the emes and I wouldn’t want any other life. Boruch Hashem I feel very happy with the direction I am moving towards and with the goals that I have succeeded and iy”h with more goals that I will reach.

Again I want to thank you Rabbi O you helped me out more than anyone will ever know, guiding me and changing me and my outlook on life. I will never forget you or the yeshiva, YNS.

Thank you
A student of yours, Shlomo L

thank you to the former student who put his thoughts and feelings into words.
i too would like to thank Rabbi O for all that he had done for my son while at YNS and continues to do for him even when not officially enrolled anymore in the yeshiva. Rabbi Os talents are amazing working with these boys and I feel that my son as well as myself have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from him.
Hashem should give Rabbi O strength b’ruchnius and b’gashmius to continue what he does best.

To all the Shlomo L’s , with Yud Shvat upon us, it doesn’t take much see that YNS , Rabbi O , the ANHALA & Shluchim are a real Basi Legani.

  • vey moved

its about time to be able to read something so moving and positive about yeshivas/roshei yeshivas. it moved me so much that i even checked out the link that took me to the YNS website – what a wonderful yeshiva!

  • Be mishtatef in this holy work...

… a wonderful dedicated Rosh Yeshiva needs the funding that keeps such an awesome program running. Please donate through their website http://www.nishmatshlomo.com If it’s harder on all of us in this economy, it’s even harder for a yeshiva, and if its harder for a yeshiva, it’s harder for one that is doing the work of saving lives in PEKUACH NEFESH MAMASH BGASHMIUS UBRUCHNIUS! All brochos for good in a revealed way should rain down on the yeshiva’s staff and their families and their students past, present and future. The dorm and yeshiva building should be filled with physical and spiritual warmth and the gelt to accomplish it all.If everyone who reads this comment and the letter in the article is moved to donate any amount – it will add up and HELP!!!!! Be mishtatef in this holy work…
