5 shot, 2 dead in night of mayhem in Brooklyn, Bronx
Five people were shot — two fatally — in an hour of bloody mayhem across Crown Heights and the Bronx Tuesday night, police said.
At 7:12 p.m., an 18-year-old woman was shot in the leg on Stone Ave. at the Howard Houses in Brownsville by a black man wearing all-gray clothing, a police source said. He was seen fleeing in a black Cadillac.
About 7:50 p.m., two teens were shot at St. John’s Park in Crown Heights. Daquan Weston, 18, was shot four times in the hip, buttocks and stomach along with a boy, 15, who was shot in the left knee.
Weston, of Albany Ave. in Crown Heights, died at Kings County Hospital. At the same time just three miles away, a 21-year-old man — who had 11 prior arrests — died after he was shot multiple times in front of the Ingersoll Houses in downtown Brooklyn.
Ten minutes later in the Bronx, a bullet pierced the leg of a 19-year-old man at the Mott Haven Houses. Hours earlier, a 20-year-old man with 10 prior arrests, including robbery and criminal possession of a controlled substance, was stabbed in the chest in the lobby of a Putnam Ave. building in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
He died at Kings County Hospital. No arrests have been made in any of the incidents.
