Palin Sports Star of David During NYC Visit

JTA

Sarah Palin visited New York tourist spots sporting a large Star of David around her neck.

Palin, who visited the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Wednesday with her daughter Piper, told NBC New York that she was wearing the Star of David in honor of Jerusalem Day, which marks the city’s reunification under Israeli sovereignty during the Six Day War in 1967.

Observers have suggested that she wore the necklace in order to drum up support among Jewish New Yorkers for a possible 2012 bid for president.

Palin, who ran unsuccessfully for vice president as John McCain’s running mate in 2008, visited Washington, Maryland and Pennsylvania this week before arriving in New York.

Palin caused a stir in March when she wore a Star of David around her neck during a brief visit to Israel, which included a visit to the Western Wall and a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

    More important:
She dresses with tzniyus. So she won’t be visiting CHTs.

  • yup

as if a piece of jewelery makes up for your total lack of brains. please!

  • Annonymous

she stated yesterday that she feels that Israel should be a state and it should survive think before you speak and pay attention to the news.

  • Andrea Schonberger

She’s a christian dominionist–alot of them wear Jewish stars but their intent is still evil so don’t bother voting for her.

  • critical of New York Judges

Since Obama forwarded his so-called peace 0plan, look for every possible candidate to show their support for israel in one way or another in order to earn the Jewish vote. No self-respecting Jew should vote for obama because if he is reelected it will mean bad tiddings for Israel. The chicago political machine neither forgives nor forgets!!!!!

  • BigBen

Sara for President. the libs are attacking her because she is a true conservative and has a great chance to be a winner. This is the kind of person America desperately needs now. I’m voting for her :) we’ve seen what a big looser obameh is, and he is poised to inflict more damage on US.

  • Milhouse

Who has a lack of brains? Only commenters like “yup”. Really, what on earth would make someone say something like that, except a heart full of sin’ah?

  • Milhouse

#1, what’s your point? What are you fearful of? Are you accusing her of being one of the “tzvuin”? Why would you do that? She’s clearly on our side. Everything she has ever said and done shows that.

  • To #5, Annonymous

Yea, most Republicans share her views on Israel, yet some of the other possible candidates actually have IQs higher than 40. Just because she supports Israel doesn’t mean she deserves you’re vote. There’s more than one issue in an election.

  • HDS

She also said Israel must stop apologizing to the world. It’s in her blood somewhere, I have no doubt.

  • Mendy Hecht

I’d rather have a smart idiot like her in the White House than a stupid genius like Barack Obama.

  • anon

she can’t be jewish because she’s a complete IDIOT. please take off that magen dovid, mrs. palin, as i would be ashamed to have you as one of us.

  • Jew

Seems most of you watch CNN.

All they do is make fun of a women who doesn’t poses the gift of political slander and lie talk. We liberals need “smart” lairs who make great promises. We don’t need some normal women who is a mere housekeeper and mother and Human being just like you and I. We need someone who stands up for the gay, black, and liberal communities, preferably a big mouth and “smart” brains.

For some reason I don’t value liberal intelligence. I prefer someone who doesn’t know how to lie even if she tried.

  • Troll

It seems that CH.Info has an outside liberal troll hanging out.

Sara Palin will be our next president.

  • Milhouse

Andrea Schonberger (#6), how dare you talk about a decent person like that? What gives you the right to call her evil? *You* are the evil one. I don’t believe you’re even Jewish. A Jew would not speak like that of a true oheves yisroel.

#11 and #15, you’re probably the same person as Andrea Schonberger. You have no basis for calling her an idiot, especially when she’s clearly a lot smarter than you are. #15, you’re right that idiots are unlikely to be Jewish, so that rules you out.

I cannot understand how any decent person could just make up such stuff about another human being, to call her evil and stupid when everything she has ever said and done shows here to be good and kind and extremely intelligent.

Comment three really says it all, Best post!!!
I mean she must not be a religious christian if she’s wearing a magan david. It;s a little bizarre, but I think she means well and just wants to show her respect.

  • marrano jews

i once read somewhere that her family actually has jewish blood! i believe that her father’s family came from litteh (lithunia) and somewhere along the line – not too far back at all – they shmad r’l. it would be interesting if someone could provide more details.

  • Milhouse

#20, no, she has no known Jewish ancestors. Certainly nobody from Lita. Maybe if you go all the way back to Roman times there was a yiddishe mamme, and Eliyohu Hanovi will identify her (and millions of others) as Jewish; but al pi din if she were to marry one Jew and then have a child by another Jew, that child would not be a mamzer, and if he were to convert he could marry any Jewish woman without any shaylos. And that is the true test of Jewish status: the ability to create a mamzer.

  • Andrea Schonberger

Dear #18 Milhouse, For the record I am a Yid and so is my husband. Exactly how much have you researched Sara Palin? Have you read about the TrooperGate scandel in which she attempted to get her ex brother-in-law fired as an Alaskan State Trooper because of a personal falling out and not because of his job performance? A good person would never have pulled a stunt like that. And as for her being an ahavas yisroel with friends like that who needs enemies? Like #21 Mike M wrote: she is still a shiksa

  • From 11 to Milhouse

Ok, read the following Palin quotes and tell me that this woman is the one you want running this country:

1:“But obviously, we’ve got to stand with our North Korean allies.” –Sarah Palin, after being asked how she would handle the current hostilities between the two Koreas, interview on Glenn Beck’s radio show, Nov. 24, 2010

2:“Well, let’s see. There’s ― of course in the great history of America there have been rulings that there’s never going to be absolute consensus by every American, and there are those issues, again, like Roe v. Wade, where I believe are best held on a state level and addressed there. So, you know, going through the history of America, there would be others but ―” –Sarah Palin, unable to name a Supreme Court decision she disagreed with other than Roe vs. Wade, interview with Katie Couric, CBS News, Oct. 1, 2008

3:“All of ’em, any of ’em that have been in front of me over all these years.” –Sarah Palin, unable to name a single newspaper or magazine she reads, interview with Katie Couric, CBS News, Oct. 1, 2008

4:“As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where– where do they go? It’s Alaska. It’s just right over the border.” –Sarah Palin, explaining why Alaska’s proximity to Russia gives her foreign policy experience, interview with CBS’s Katie Couric, Sept. 24, 2008

5:“Especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.” –Sarah Palin, defending her fiery campaign rhetoric in the wake of the Arizona shooting massacre by invoking a phrase (“blood libel”) that typically refers historically to the alleged murder of Christian babies by Jews, Jan. 12, 2011

6:“We used to hustle over the border for health care we received in Canada. And I think now, isn’t that ironic?” –Sarah Palin, admitting that her family used to get treatment in Canada’s single-payer health care system, despite having demonized such government-run programs as socialized medicine that will lead to death-panel-like rationing, March 6, 2010

7: “Ground Zero Mosque supporters: doesn’t it stab you in the heart, as it does ours throughout the heartland? Peaceful Muslims, pls refudiate.” Ummm, yea, she said refudiate. Look it up.

If you need any other reason, search for post 2008 election interviews by John McCain and his daughter Meagan, and see what they have to say about her “genius”. I’m not calling the woman stupid because she’s a Republican, I’m just saying to listen to what she has to say on topics other than Israel before labeling her the second coming.

  • Lets liberals get out of this blog.

For all of intellectual cuties-Are you seriously offering to vote for Obama, instead of Palin? Didn’t he ruined this country enough? Didn’t he attacks and criticized Israel on numerous occasions? Didn’t he pushes Israel to give up territories?

Number 4,6 & 15 are you undercover members of Move.org or Huffington Post? Number 18 is right!

Number 6, Do you really think that “Trooper’s scandal” is even close to Obama’s claims to return Israel to 67’s borders?

  • Milhouse

Wow, what a bunch of liars and idiots.

#23 (“Andrea Schonberger”), you’re a liar. I’m now convinced you’re not Jewish, and neither is your husband, if you even have one.

#24 presents a mixed bag of misquotes and obvious truths that lefty liars like to make fun of. There is not a single thing in that list that she needs defending from. Who is Meghan McCain that I should care what she has to say? For that matter, why should I care what her father has to say either? But for the record, the campaign accusing her of somehow being responsible for the shooting in Arizona *was* a blood libel, and she was 100% right to say so, and no honest person has any problem with it. The fact that you would include this in your list proves that you’re not an honest person.

And #27, no, her mother is not Jewish, and nor is any known ancestor. Why don’t *you* do your research, instead of spouting such nonsense?

  • Milhouse

OK, just in case anyone might actually be misled by #24’s list, here’s a detailed rebuttal.

    1. An obvious slip of the tongue, that happens to *everybody*. Nobody listening could possibly misunderstand, and anyone who claims she didn’t know the difference between North and South Korea is simply a deliberate liar. That means you, #24.

    2. Do *you* memorise the names of Supreme Court decisions that you disagree with? If I put you on the spot and asked you to name them, could you?

    3. How would *you* respond to such a chutzpadike question, coming out of the blue? She was expecting an intelligent interview, not a hit piece. She certainly wasn’t expecting to be treated like an idiot, and asked such stupid questions. But she was deliberately set up, and two days of interviewing was carefully edited to show only the “bloopers”. Why doesn’t Couric release the full recording, and we will be able to see what she really answered. But that won’t happen, because this was designed as an ambush. Couric even coordinated her interview prep with the Obama campaign!

    4. What’s your problem with this? It’s the exact truth.

    5. As I wrote above, what’s your problem with this? No honest person, let alone a Jew, would have the slightest problem with her calling a blood libel a blood libel.

    6. Huh? When they lived in Skagway they took their medical emergencies to the nearest hospital, which was in Whitehorse. Where else should they have gone? How does this somehow mean she shouldn’t criticise the stupid way Canada manages its health system, and resist importing it to the USA? If she’d been treated by a Soviet hospital, would that mean she could not criticise the obvious faults of the communist health system?

    7. The joke’s on you. “Refudiate” is a wonderful portmanteau word, and was cited by the Oxford dictionary as the word of the year!

  • Milhouse

#28, and anyone else who was wondering, there was no “troopers scandal”. The liar calling him or herself “Andrea Schonberger” is as usual full of lies. There was no scandal; in fact she *didn’t* try to get her psycho ex-brother-in-law fired, although in her place I certainly would have. The man was clearly dangerous, and had no business being a policeman; but Palin’s sense of ethics prevented her from pulling any strings to get him fired.

  • Milhouse

Compare Joe Biden to Sarah Palin. Palin is much less prone to embarrassing gaffes. Her kids are far more impressive people, with far less scandal. She’s a cleaner politician, with much more class and humility and honor. And yet 99% of Americans know nothing of Biden’s gaffes, his kids’ crimes, or his arrogance and dishonesty, because the lamestream media are on his side.

  • Milhouse you didn-t get it yet?

Most probably “Andrea Schonberger” and #11 is a same person, who is a part of some lefty group, who serf through different blogs, probably changing names, or using multiple names, to disperse lies about conservatives.

He/she/it hopes to defend Obama’s presidency next elections by putting down/spreading lies about any potential opponents.
You either, will not get any response from this coward and lair,
or “many” people with “different” names will attack your statements.

  • Andrea Schonberger

Dear Milhouse, Please calm down. Yes I am a Yid and contact the Rabbi of Chabad of Pierce County in Washington state by email if you don’t believe me. Andrea Schonberger is my real name and I’ve been married for over 28 years. I assure you that I don’t know Mr/Mrs #11.

  • 11/24

None of you idiots get it. The posts by myself, Andrea, and others are not supporting Obama, nor are they a “left wing conspiracy”. There are many candidates within the Republican party vying for the party’s nomination. While many are a real waste of time, there are quite a few with more political experience, savvy, and presidential gravitas than Palin (see Romney, Santorum, and Pawlenty, along with undecideds Huntsman and Perry).

The fact of the matter is, this is all a moot point, as Palin has not even announced her candidacy for the position. BUT, should she throw her hat into the ring, see how she matched up with the other candidates on ALL the issues, not just her blind, uninformed support of Israel. (Just to clarify, I’m not disagreeing with her view on Israel, just saying she doesn’t have enough foreign policy experience to understand all the intricacies involved in making promises of support.)

  • Yid

so how much foreign policy experience would be a good standard? would Clinton be a fine example of expertise with foreign policy?

Bush was no expert and things were just fine when it came to handling the middle east.

Palin would do just fine without having to write scholarly papers analyzing all the intricacies and complexities of promising support or conducting peace ceremonies. Unless you are kid studying political science, there is nothing to it.
