Sukkah Stationed by Shopping Center

MANCHESTER, England — Sukkos is the Yom Tov of achdus, of unity, symbolized by the Sukkah. Dwelling in the Sukkah is the one mitzah that involves a person’s whole body. In the sukkah we are surrounded by the mitzvah.

The binding together of the Arba Mimin, the Lulav, Esrog, Aravos and Haddasim, also demonstrates unity, and shaking them in the Sukkah, is an amazing experience.

This year, L’Chaim helped to unify our city by bringing the Sukkos Experience to thousands of fellow Jews, of all ages and from all walks of life. Our volunteers were on hand at hospitals, schools, workplaces, shopping centres and street corners with lulav and esrog, giving everyone they met the opportunity to fulfill the mitzvah of shaking the lulav.

L’Chaim, Directed by Rabbi Yisroel Cohen constructed four public sukkahs where hundreds of people gathered to enjoy a meal in the sukkah and make the blessing, “leishev ba’sukkah” (to sit in the Sukkah). For many it was their first Sukkos experience, but from their enthusiastic and heartfelt response, we know it won’t be their last.

L’Chaim would like to thank all the volunteers and supporters who helped with our Sukkos campaign. Yasher Koach!!

there had to be more parking spaces.
it’s good to do mitzvos just be aware of what is around you.
