In a creative and meaningful response to the tragedy in Pittsburgh, Avraham Edery and Daniel Schechter went to Washington Square Park in Manhattan, and put on tefilin with 11 Jews.
11 innocents murdered from hate, and in return, 11 Mitzvos from love. It was a fitting response to an unthinkable tragedy that stemmed from pure hatred.
Two young photographers, Avraham Edery, 21, and Daniel Schechter, 25, put on tefillin with 11 Jews at Washington Square Park in Manhattan on Monday, October 29. Each act was commemorated by reciting one of the victims names and immortalized it on film.
