1 in 3 Americans Says Would Not Have Hid Jews During Holocaust

According to a recently-conducted poll, 1 in 3 American adults say they would have said “no” if asked to hide a Jew were they around during the Holocaust.

From the Hollywood Reporter:

One-third of American adults, if alive during the Holocaust, would refuse to hide a Jew from the Nazis.

That data comes courtesy of a scientific poll conducted as part of an odd marketing ploy to promote the digital release of the film Return to the Hiding Place, which tells the true story of Christians who risked death to shelter Jews from Nazis seeking to ship them off to death camps during World War II.

The film, in fact, is similar to 1975’s The Hiding Place, only this time around the story is told from the perspective of a physics student who refuses to join Germany’s Nazi party.

So, all these money spent on Holocaust museums in order to make Goym feel guilty is a total waste.

Why should they feel guilty? They didn’t do anything wrong. And nobody ever has an obligation to risk themselves and their families to save someone else. That so many people would voluntarily do so is amazing, but those who answered “no” should not feel guilty.

  • COMING FROM A PESSIMIST

there is some great news in the poll, 69% of American WOULD hid a Jew.
    that i thing is AMAZING!

  • well

in all honesty, ask yourself: if i had the opportunity, would i save Christians from syria that are under isis?

    prob not!

  • Ugh!

What kind of idiotic survey is this?

If I called every Jewish home in the tri-state area and asked whom was willing to hide gentiles and risk their own family being killed, how many would say yes?

It was the COLLECTIVE silence of German, Ukrainian and Polish CITIZENS, as well as the sickening lack of empathy from Western countries whom refused to bomb concentration camps that is utterly despicable and will always and forever leave a stain.

The ones that hid Jews are heroes and should be blessed with eternal life in the next world.

  • In reality the numbers will be 0

sad reality that antisemitc views or actions of ” vandalism/ etc that is called ” still exist nowadays …. We didn’t teach the American /other youth enough about the holocaust and how the Jews and the African people were treated to the death by Nazis …..maybe it will give more future of tolerance …… And understanding

  • not shocking BUT...

If you read it differently, over 60% of Americans WOULD have hidden Jews!
    It’s more sensationalist journalism

That proves nothing more than the fact that 1 in 3 Americans are being honest about the issue.

  • Unemployed Noachide

Why am I not surprised? Each time I post anything positive about Jews, Judaism, or Israel … the nutters and haters respond with thumbs-down and/or their standard conspiracy theories. It sickens me. I really wish Ha-Shem would give me the means and wherewithal to relocate to a Jewish neighborhood, because I ain’t getting through to the “good” folk here in Jesusland, Redneckville, USA. :*(

  • Thats no surprise!

Some of our own people whom have alot of gelt in our CH community would not even shelter us. Some of our own get angry even if we mention ww2. Sad but true because Torah says we must “Love our Neighbor” Thats a Commandment not a suggestion.

we do need to remember from this, that the Rebbe told us to teach the 7 mitzvos bnai noach.

Yes, it would have been nice if I’d heard about Noachidism before I bought into the lies of the Xtians. Baruch Ha-Shem I educated myself out their avodah zarah, but 99.99% of Xtians are content with their belief-system. Why Ha-Shem isn’t drawing more people out of Xtianity is beyond me. Okay, so if it wasn’t for Xtianity I’d probably have grown up worshipping some Celtic deity, because Klal Yisrael has never been in a position of strength that they need to be in order to spread Noachidism among the Nations. That said, Noachidism isn’t really a religion (with its own customs, mnemonic rituals, etc). And I only know of two small Noachide communities. The rest of us are scattered far and wide, so there’s really no sense of belonging. It think that’s why so many Noachides end up converting to Judaism. Anyway, it would be nice if more Jews engaged in outreach to the Nations, but I understand why their priority has to be on outreach to the non- and not-so-Torah observant Jews. ::::heavy sigh::::

What is worse and not really discussed is that this is irrelevant, because it is what would our fellow co-religionists do to aid their breatherin and sisters? All we have to do is look at the WWI Era when the NEW YORK TIMES and Rabbi Wise dismissed the mass murder of Jews in order to kiss up to FDR and even afterwards when it became know that FDR was a rabid anti-Semitic bigot, the Jews still kissed the ground he walked on. Now, they have another anti-Semitic bigot to chase after: Obama; and, how many of fellow Jews state that Israel is not important???????

  • Why should we expect it?

When goyim kill goyim, even on a massive scale, we don’t feel the same sense of outrage or responsibility as when our people are the victims. This is just human nature. Family, friends, members, etc. care more for their own than for “non-members.”
So, why should we expect the goyim to care more for us, then we would for them?

On a deeper level, however, it is like the President or Royalty. One would give their lives to protect them. So, if we are G-d’s Chosen people, then a similar obligation applies.
