Smolensk’s First Ever Kosher Grocery Opens

Following the grand opening of its Jewish community center, the Smolensk Jewish Community led by Rabbi Levi Yitschok Mondshine, Chief Rabbi of Smolensk and the Smolensk region, celebrated the opening of the city’s first ever kosher store on the premises of the new center.

Mr. Gershom Gulitsky, the store manager said, “I have been receiving many phone calls from Jews and non Jews alike, who have seen my phone number on the store truck as it drives through the city and are interested to know about all of our new specialty kosher products. I hope my store helps people who want to keep kosher at home.”

The store was assisted by the “Super Kosher” company in Moscow which imports and distributes kosher food products throughout Russia.
