A kosher ice cream truck war in Sullivan County, NY has resulted in two arrests. Update: CrownHeights.info has obtained a video of the incident.

Joseph Isaacoff, 25, and Binyamin Yitzchakov, 21, of Brooklyn were charged with petty larceny in August after sheriff’s deputies say they hopped onto a rival kosher ice cream truck, yelled at their rival and then stole his iPod.

The actual incident took place on a Sunday afternoon July 15 outside the Sun Ranch Bungalow Colony on Fraser Road in the Town of Thompson. Isaacoff and Yitzchakov are in business together.

Levy Habosha, 25, of Brooklyn, runs his own kosher ice cream truck. These are the trucks that jingle music down the street and bring the kids running.

“They are competing for business at all the camps,” Sheriff’s Sgt. Ed Clouse said.

Habosha reported to deputies that his rivals came on board and started calling him names. But he has mounted video cameras inside and outside his ice cream truck and the incident was recorded on videotape. Deputies were able to confirm that the two came onboard and took the iPod and threw it out, Clouse said.

Isaacoff and Yitzchakov voluntarily surrendered on Aug. 2 and were booked on the misdemeanor charge.

But ever since, the ice cream war has continued around the camps.

“They are still out there working,” Clouse said. “We get calls once or twice a week that one has looked at the other one funny.”

    as an initial matter, who needs or can afford this suggary treat every day! It forces those who can’t afford to spend what they don’t have for something their kids don’t need. As far as rhe behavior of these business partners, oh well. Men have fought in business forever, nothing new. Just embarrassing and probably gave the authorities a good laugh.

    All I can say is thank G-D they’re up in the country for the summer and far from us who are here in the city.
    It’s a relief to be able to stay home and not feel as if we are depriving our children every time that ice cream truck comes to our block , parks the truck for at least 15 minutes with the music in our faces , and then we tell our precious children : sorry kinderlach , not this time .

    Now coming to a bungalow near you “ice cream truck wars” where contestants will “look at each other funny” and occasionally “throw iPods out”.

    But seriously, the story lacks in writing skills.. as well at it not being much of a story.

    And guys grow up, and stop looking funny at each other it might lead to iPod throwing show-offs. At least throw ice cream at each other, much more fun to watch.

    my kids know once a week they will get ice cream (not every time the truck comes around) and parents learn how to tell your kids yes and no. dont blame the ice cream truck guys ….. when i gruw up we could only wish for something as good as kosher ice cream on a truck.

    habosha goes outside the school every day in spring/summer he was asked to not because parents complained that they CANT AFFORD IT and that they dont wnat their kids eating the garbage every day…he wouldnt listen…

    to #10 It’s called discipline!!! when you are walking down kingston near the ice cream shop and your kids want ice cream ,you decide if they get the treat.so if the ice cream truck is near your house you decide if you want to treat your kids!!! I always dreamed of having an ice cream truck that was KOSHER in crown heights and now that we have it people complain! Crown Heighters will never be happy with what you have!!!

    Don’t patronize the Haboushe (BAZAL) trucks, he beat up a lubavitcher and once the guy was down took a rock and smashed it into his face. He was hospitalized until after shabbos.

    They also got into a big fight at a Satmer colony and were spray painted.

    Time to Shut them down. Let him go back to work with mendy hendel and the scam eshel building

    The city is noisy enough without that jingle played over and over, plus the goyishe trucks playing theirs. In any case that ice cream is garbage, full of sugar fat and chemicals, don’t we have enough of an obesity problem in the hood as it is?

    There is FREE ENTERPRISE in the United States. No one in Crown Heights has the right to block that which made America what it is. Go shut down BenZs and Mimulo while you’re at it because “people CANT AFFORD IT..” or better yet get off welfare and work so you CAN afford it.

    competition is normal but unfortunately the other ice cream truck which is kleins and yogurt18 went too far and started fighting physically, beating up and stealing ipods.. just because of competition!!

    Please think sensefully! Don’t just blame the Ice Cream truck owners because you don’t want to give your kids Ice Cream. You as a parent should teach your kids when you can and can’t have it. You are not forced to buy it every time the truck comes around. The same way kids can’t have a treat every time they are in the grocery store, they will learn to hear the truck and not get Ice Cream every time they see it.

    You should see what happens when they meet on the same block they throw ice cream cups at each other then the kids pick them up and get free icecream.

    Parents, choose one day a week with your children that you say YES to ice cream… and/or teach your kids to save up their own pocket change. The ice cream truck is a huge opportunity for teachable moments about smart spending/saving, and healthy eating with occasional treats.
