Murderers of Three Israeli Teens Killed by IDF

The two wanted Palestinians who have been suspected of kidnapping and murdering three Jewish teenagers in Gush Etzion earlier this summer, were shot and killed by the IDF in an exchange of fire on Tuesday morning.

From Yeshiva World News:

An exchange of gunfire took place as IDF, ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) and Yomam forces arrived to arrest wanted terrorists Marwan Kawasmeh and Omar Abu-Eisha of Hebron. The two allegedly abducted and murdered the three kedoshim in June, Naftali Frenkel, Eyal Yifrach and Gilad Shaar, HYD. The incident occurred during the night and it was cleared for publication on Tuesday morning, 28 Elul.

The ISA obtained information as to their hideout, the area in the Hebron district were the two were hiding from security forces. When the Yomam commando force arrived, the terrorists opened fire at the force.

“Operation Brothers Return ended this morning after the two terrorists who perpetrated the abduction and murders were killed in a combined ISA, Yomam, and Duvdevan operation in Hebron” stated the Yehuda and Shomron Division Commander Brigadier-General Tamir Yedai. “Since June 12th we have been hunting them down, Marwan Kawasmeh and Omer Abu-Eisha. This has been a long and complex operation. We arrived at the building they were holed up at about 01:00. We surrounded the building in which they were hiding”.

It is being reported that one of them is dead and security forces believe the second is dead as well. Walla News adds that it is difficult to identify the victim due to the condition of the body.

The senior commander added the building in which they were hiding is located near the hospital in the northern area of Hebron. The ground floor houses a bakery and a shoe store. One flight down is a carpentry facility. The intelligence report provided the elite units with specific information as to the location of the two wanted terrorists.

I don’t mean to incite anything and I know that Israel is justified in making sure the terrorists get what they deserve, but if Israel calls itself a democratic state, they can’t just go and kill people just because they think they deserve it. In a democracy, even the most hated criminals are given a fair trial and allowed to present their case in court. Killing someone before they can go on trial would never stand in another democratic country. I mean, what if they were technically innocent? How do we even know they were the ones who did it? I think Israel has to be more careful with the way they deal with terrorists. This gives other countries, especially the UN the ability to use this against them.

Indeed you are correct, in a democratic nation a suspected criminal is afforded due process when it comes to the matter of trial and punishment.

In this case it is far more different being that these ‘suspects’ are enemy combatants and members of an organization, which is internationally recognized as a terror group. Those people are not afforded the rights that citizens are entitled to.

The other part of this is that the article states that the IDF in conjunction with various security agencies conducted an operation to apprehend these terrorists, only they came under heavy fire and returned the same.

In contrast, should a police force attempt to execute a search warrant or apprehended a suspect and were to come under fire, are we still to cry “but where is due process? Where is the trial?”

      I think not.
