Man Beaten by ‘Tznius Patrol’ for Staring at Woman

A 55-year-old man was beaten by a Charedi ‘Tznius Patrol’ in the Kiryat Sanz neighborhood of Jerusalem on motzei Shabbos, and is reported to be in moderate-to-serious condition.

According Walla and Ynet News reports, the victim, a frum Jew, was beaten when a group of Charedim saw him staring at a pregnant woman as she waited for a bus. They pushed the man into a vehicle, beat him and dumped him on a local street.

He is being treated at Sanz Laniado Hospital.

Police say the severity of the man’s bruises have prevented them from interviewing him, and that no arrests have been made.

  • What's the diff?

Between these thugs & the Taliban? As someone said to me today referring to someone – may they be blessed with the exact same care & love they gave out.

Every time i hear a story like this it instills in me more and more that NO!! I am definitely not like these chassidim and want nothing to do with them….they are an embarrassment to all jews around the world and live in their own little bubble of a world….

just shows you that there are no limits to extremism..

and yes this is a good message to all extreme chabad people as well…WHATEVER YOU BELIEVE OR START TO DO OUT OF PEER PRESSURE….STOP!! AND USE YOUR BRAINS….ASK YOURSELF….DO I REALLY BELIEVE IN WHAT I AM DOING????? DID I GET ANOTHER OPINION?? IS THIS EXTREME THINKING AND BEHAVIOR??

otherwise it is so easy to get caught up in craziness …

may we all develop a balanced and normal way to serve god and respect all jews and non jews alike

  • nah

It seems a anti charaidy story. There is 2 sides to every story. I don’t believe it for a sec

      Okay. Don’t believe the story.

But why was this Jew beaten by other Jews to begin with. He shouldn’t be in a hospital.

  • 2 Wrongs

#1 This was in Kiryas Tzanz in Netanya (Laniado Hospital is in Netanya not Yerushalyim)
#2 According to residents the man (who wasn’t from KS) started hitting a young couple out for a stroll because they didn’t move out of his way fast enough, that’s when standers–by moved in to seperate him.

    A few more details:
    – The “scoop” was first reported by anti religous ynet who are always eager to bad-mouth anyone with a beard and payes.
    – If you would have done your research you would have seen that the police said there was no Mishmeret Hatzniut in KS.
    – If you would have looked at any of the frum websites you would see a completely other story, rather than these blatant lies.

Don’t bad mouth a whole eida kedosha just because it sounds like a good story.

    • thanks

thanks for the other side of the story. I knew there was something fishy about this whole thing.

What in the world?! Is beating up your elders now part of tznius? I thought we were supposed to respect our elders not dis and beat them. What kind of parents would raise such children to do this? What is the patrol’s definition of “staring”–anyone who is not blind maybe? If the lady in question made no complaints to the authorities that this man was harassing her then as far as I’m concerned he was not “staring” at her.

  • ridiculous

they also looked at the women to see who was staring at her so they should also beat themselves..what has this world come to!

  • lol

Police could not interview him but we know he was beaten for staring at a woman… If he was beaten after leaving the restroom they would say he was beaten for using the restroom..

I cannot believe this for one second!!! the most outrageous rediculious thing I have ever heard!!!
    shame on them!!

  • The derech the Rebbe taught us

Say the truth, but say it from a place of real love! Real genuine desire for the others well being,
No need to toss rocks if Instead u use True love

In fact MOST if not all Tznius rebels would be far less desperate and insecure etc IF THEIR PARENTS AND MECHANCHEM RAISED THEM W TRUE CHASIDUS U conditional love!!

  • Just sayin

There is another version to this story: says that a chiloni man started arguing with a couple that was walking, he started to push the husband, and a fight ensued. A group that had gathered separated them, took him aside and beat him up. Don’t know which is true, but remember, the papers reporting this is very anti-chareidi

  • you were'nt there

Stares can be intimidating. If he was really frum, he wouldn’t be looking, let alone staring, at a married woman. Maybe he’s a known pervert? maybe the “patrol” was trying to prevent harm to the woman.
You were not there. Stop judging. And stop staring at women!

  • Who's fault is it????

It was the pregnant lady’s fault for enticing the poor guy into staring at her.
They should have beaten her instead.

Your spelling is terrible and one who stares at a woman granted its not correct but. It does not make him not frum,u write the word pervert nearby i assume that though you incorrectly equate looking at woman to being not frum u dont mean to hint that ur a pervert by looking at a woman cause thats ridiculous. Also not to advocate looking at. Women but all u say is irrelevent as None of it justifies beating also a halachic infraction

  • Where can I buy a Burka?

As a poster commented on YNet, if this was Tehran or Saudi Arabia, they would have beaten the woman.

  • Citizen Berel

This is very true because you can read it on the internet. Everything what you can read on the internet is true. And this is true because you read it on the internet.

  • Thinkster

The story should have read ‘4 Charedim beaten by man in back of panel van’.

  • something fishi

nah. must be some other story. but the media like to change things around or better some self hating jew. who cant stand frum

  • declasse' intelelctual

Is this a rush to judgement? However, there have been enough documented cases to raise the question are we repeating the sins of our forefathers before the second Chorbun? Any one who has read Josephus Jewish Wars which described the way Jew treated Jew raises anew this issue is history repeating itself again
especially at this crucial time(peace meetings in Washington)?

  • with the old breed

I think there is more to this story…please get someone to make sure you get the whole story. There seems to be a something wrong in many of the basic facts.

  • TO ANDREA SH. AND ALL THE REST OF THE GOSSIPERS

WHY DON’T YOU ALL CHECK OUT THE FACTS BEFORE YOU GO CRAZY. THIS IS NOT THE ACTUAL STORY.
