Chaim V’Chessed: Travel Update – New Requirement for Flights to the US

Chaim V’Chessed brings the community an important travel update for anyone flying to the United States, including passengers departing from Israel.

Beginning November 3, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, all passengers boarding international flights to the U.S. will be required to sign a declaration confirming that they have not been in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) during the previous 21 days. The declaration can be seen here, though airlines may make a digital version available, as well.

What travelers need to know:

– The requirement applies to all passengers, including U.S. citizens and Green Card holders.

– The declaration must be completed before boarding, either digitally or on paper.

– Passengers who do not complete the declaration may be denied boarding.

The measure was introduced by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a precaution against the spread of Ebola. For the official announcement, visit the CDC website.

Travelers should check with their airline for instructions before departure.

Chaim V’Chessed will continue to keep the community informed of important developments and provide timely updates on matters affecting English-speaking residents and travelers.
