Crown Heights [CHI] — Reports are flooding in about an ongoing hostage situation on the corner of Montgomery St. and Troy Ave., where a stabbing occured. It appears the suspect fled into the corner building - 840 Montgomery - and holed himself up in one of the apartments.

Crown Heights [CHI] — Reports are flooding in about an ongoing hostage situation on the corner of Montgomery St. and Troy Ave., where a stabbing occured. It appears the suspect fled into the corner building – 840 Montgomery – and holed himself up in one of the apartments.

Police initially stormed the wrong building – 836 Mongomery – in search for the suspect, but have now located the apartment where the suspect has barricaded himself. They are currently in the midst of hostage negotiations with the suspect.

Both buildings have significant Jewish populations, however, the apartment where the hostages are appears to be non-Jewish.

Updates will be posted as they unfold.

UPDATE 10:19pm: Police negotiations were successful and the suspect was apprehended. A total of 6 people were taken into custody; however, it is yet unclear why.

In other, unrelated news, there were another 2 shootings on Park Place and Franklin Ave. One of the victims is a 24-year -old police officer whose condition is unknown. The other victim – a civilian – was killed by the gunfire.

    WHen will they finally get it that these hoodlems should finally stop doing this parade!!! There has been at least one murder and several stabbings every year for the past 10 years!!!

    it was not a hostage situation, a few black kids were smoking in the courtyard of 840 and when the cops came they ran, so the cops fallowed and they refused to open the door for half an hour, when they did open the door they were all arrested.
    seems to me the stabber or shooter got away

    i was in a shoot out today with my friend. we were the only white people there and the only jews. we were walking through the parade to get home from park slope and everyone ran for cover….we and 10 others ducked under a car … i looked around the corner and saw the shooter firing the bullets 10 feet away from me towards our direction…how my friend and i survived today is completely unknown and the greatest miracle…live every day like its ur last. i NEVER thought this would happen today and it changed my view on life forever!

    Year after year the shooting stabbing and whatever else gets worse and the city keeps on giving a permit .. Jews want to make a lag be,omer parade and if numbers do not add up the way city likes it NO permit … Why the double standard??? … Oh I know we are Jewish so we get the raw end of the stick

    Hell’s Haven!!!!Why would anyone in their right mind want to live there????You cannot even go to the couner grocier without being migged, robbed, assulted, stabbed or worse. And, the community council to help the residents–noone home!!!!!!!

    these people deserve their “holiday” but not at this price. why is it allowed. that is such a high level of crime, its unheard of to have that much. those poor people, they can’t even live long enough to help their own people improve their lifestyle

    Oh I don’t know it kept my block pretty entertained. I was a bit scared at one point though, but the police were pretty on top of it. All that for a stabbing?? That’s what I was thinking. B”H they got him…er them. We must of seen like 6 male and females being handcuffed and led into the police van. Helicopters, police truck, caution tape, police sheild, machine guns the works!

    don’t you get it? All the bums and lowlives are celebrating the fact that OTHERS LABOR so they can live off of our tax dollars. The Mayor said the rate of crime os lower than in previous years, so they will continue monitoring the situation.
    Let them march in soho next year, or in front of Bloomberg’s residence where there vulgarity will be appreciated. We need to get them out of our neighborhood

    Linden Builvard! It has a huge street and thats more like their community. Borough park and williamsberg wouldnt stand for such Pritzus! why should we??
