Camp Gan Yisroel Detroit gathered two weeks ago for a beautiful Siyum Horambam. Based on the Rebbe's Horaa to make Siyumim. This follows a big Mivtza Rambam, headed by the head staff and some learning teachers, in which every camper got their own set of Sefer Hamitzvos, and while they are in camp the counselors learn with them the Mitzvos every night. The kids fill out a questionnaire the next day on the day's Hamitzvos, and enter a raffle on a set of Rambam, or a new bicycle.

Siyum HoRambam in Gan Yisroel Detroit

Camp Gan Yisroel Detroit gathered two weeks ago for a beautiful Siyum Horambam. Based on the Rebbe’s Horaa to make Siyumim. This follows a big Mivtza Rambam, headed by the head staff and some learning teachers, in which every camper got their own set of Sefer Hamitzvos, and while they are in camp the counselors learn with them the Mitzvos every night. The kids fill out a questionnaire the next day on the day’s Hamitzvos, and enter a raffle on a set of Rambam, or a new bicycle.

The Siyum was made by the camp Rabbi, Rabbi Lifshitz; followed by teaching a new song by Hatomim Mendel Shemtov, teacher in Masmidim (which was composed for the event by Hatomim Yossi Rabin, teacher in Masmidim). Hatomim Chesky Vogel from masmidim told over to the whole camp a Hadran from the Rebbe on the Rambam. Following that, the head staff raffled off the set of Rambam and one of the bikes. Then the camp watched a short video of the Rebbe how he made a Siyum HoRambam.

It was a beautiful event not to be forgotten by the campers for a while!

Mivtza Rambam theme song
T.T.T.O. Nigun Me’nikolayev (Heichal Neginah 34/10)

Strewn about and scattered,
Amongst the worlds’ societies,
There dwells a lone nation,
So feeble (small) and so meek.

Like a sheep amongst the wolves,
She struggles to survive,
And awaits the day,
Geulah will arrive

The Rebbe comes along
With a call to one and all:
Let us join together-
From the big to the small,
Let’s concentrate our energies,
Through Achdus Yisroel,
Learning all the Mitzvos as well.

Ten years it took the Rambam
To complete the task at hand,
To prescribe the oral Torah from the start to the end;
Through learning some each day,
And completing in a yearโ€ฆ
Surely Moshiach will appear.

Rebbe!
Tayere Rebben’yu,
How can I attach myself to you?
I will do as you say โ€“
Beginning with Rambam every day.
Imploring from Hashem to heed our cries,
And finally I’ll see you with my eyes…
