Lubavitch of Bucks County Receives ‘Renovation Award’

A few months ago Lubavitch of Bucks County opened its newly renovated 18,500 square foot facility in Newtown, PA which will function as its Headquarters in Bucks County.

The building which was purchased on one of the most prestigious streets in Bucks County has gone under a total renovation.

“After all these year if running a robust active Lubavitch center in many different small facilities around the area, we finally have a home and central address where it all comes together under one roof,” said Rabbi Yehuda Shemtov the Executive Director of the organization. Until now, the administrative, educational and holiday programming were held in various facilities around the county.

The newly renovated facilities has already borne fruit with hundreds of additional people participating in the various programs run by the divisions of Lubavitch.

The facility has not only changed the face of Lubavitch and Yiddishkeit for the community, but made a significant impact on the face of the community itself. Countless residents of all faiths and denominations in the area have expressed their excitement about this new addition to their community.

Last week the local boro awarded Rabbi Shemtov with an award for adaptive reuse of an exiting facility. In presenting the award mention was made about this great achievement.

It is a most beautiful center, having recently spent most of Pesach in this beautiful area. The facilities are first class as seen in the photos. Rabbi Shemtov deserves a special yeshekoiach for this. In addition to the wonderful facilities, what makes this Chabad House so outstanding are the special people who run the Chabad House (Rabbis Shemtov, Weinstein and Lezell) as well as the really special people who attend there. They made me and my family feel so welcome and accepted during our visit. I must mention Rabbi Weinstein and his wife Rosey, as they put so much effort into the communal Sedorim that were held and the beautiful Shabbat services followed by a Kiddush. In addition, Rabbi Lezell is working hard with the youth and is planning a special Day Camp for the summer. Thank you Rabbi Shemtov for providing all of this. It doesn’t just happen overnight.
