CLE Classes at Chabad Lubavitch of Midtown Manhattan
Chabad Lubavitch of Midtown Manhattan has just launched its newest project; The Institute of American and Talmudic Law (IATLaw.) The Institute presents Continued Legal Education (CLE) for attorneys; and calls itself New York’s Most Entertaining and Captivating CLE Program. The first session of 2006 was a great success, with Guest Speaker Ben Brafman ESQ, Principal Brafman & Associates addressing a crowd of over 60 attorneys. Mr. Brafman has represented a wide range of high-profile celebrities, business leaders and professionals in major criminal cases throughout the country. Mr. Brafman is 57 years old and resides in Long Island, New York with his wife Lynda where they are active in Congregation Beth Sholom of Lawrence, The Kulanu Torah Academy, The Israel Cancer Research Foundation and a wide range of charitable and religious organizations both in the United States and Israel.
Mr. Brafman’s lecture was followed by a Talmudic view of the law given by Rabbi Shlomo Yaffe. Rabbi Yaffe is the Founder of the Connecticut Symposium on Contemporary Legal Issues and Jewish Law and the Rabbi of Congregation Agudas Achim in Hartford.
These courses are credited by the New York Legal Assistance Group headed up by Rabbi Yisroel Schulman. Yisroel Schulman is President of the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG). NYLAG provides free legal assistance to New York’s most at-risk low-income populations including the elderly, immigrants, children with special needs, and others.
The event was followed by a complimentary buffet dinner.
