Chicago Marks Yud Tes Kislev

Chicago’s annual Yud Tes Kislev farbrengen was held on Thursday Night at The Bellows Center-FREE of Chicago, with Rabbonim, Shluchim and Anash from all over the city and its suburbs in attendance.

The event was chaired by Rabbi Levi Notik of the FREE organization, which hosted the Farbrengen

The guest speaker, Rabbi Dovid Dubov, Shliach to Mercer County/Princeton, spoke of the many aspects of Yud Tes Kislev, with Chassidic stories, insights and the practical implications for Chasidim of the auspicious day.

Reb Eli Klein inspired the participants with Chasidishe Music throughout the evening.

A Siyum and Haschala was made on the Tanya, conducted by Rabbi Shmuel Notik, Executive Director of FREE and leader of the Russian Jewish community.

Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz, Head Shliach to the state of Illinois, addressed the over 200 guests and outlined the many opportunities for Mivtza Chanukah in Chicago, including “Illuminate Black Friday,” which is a special project that will bring Chanukah Mivtzoim to the many Jews who will be lining up on Thursday night in anticipation of Black Friday sales.

During the course of the evening, a Chalukas Hashas for the coming year was arranged by Reb Yoel Zimmerman. After the formal portion of the evening concluded, many stayed late into the night to Farbreng with Rabbi Dubov.
