Yud Tes Kislev Farbrengen in South Florida
They came from near and from far to partake in the celebration at The Shul of Bal Harbour. Close to 700 strong attended the Farbrengen and were moved by the words of Chassidus of the Rebbe’s Shliach to the upper Midwest, Rabbi Moshe Feller and were inspired by the depth and richness of the Alter Rebbe’s niggunim performed by the Menagen Mayer Rivkin.
Rabbi Sholom Lipskar, the Rebbe’s Shliach, founder and spiritual leader of The Shul of Bal Harbour, welcomed the assembled and explained the significance and deep meaning of this joyous day. Segments of the new JEM production “The Early Years” were then shown, to the delight of all.

At the beginning of the musical program, Mayer Rivkin proclaimed that “this is a Chassidisher Farbrengen and not a concert” requesting that all men and boys join with him in singing the niggunim. Hundreds of voices together with the music of Zalman Goldstein, joined the Baal Menagen in singing Podoh V’Sholom. The Tenuos and the sounds of neggina, reached the condos on Collins Avenue and beyond to the Atlantic Ocean.
At one point during the Farbrengen, Rabbi Feller yelled out the American Express slogan…. “don’t leave home without it”, encouraging the Bochrim and Yungelait to always take along a pair of Tephilin whether traveling near or far.
The celebrating continued to the early hours of the morning with spontaneous singing and dancing throughout the night.
