BDE: Rabbi Arye Leib Prager, 91, OBM

With great sadness we report the passing of Rabbi Arye Leib Prager OBM, a long time Crown Heights resident, beloved Mechanech, and second-grade teacher in Oholei Torah. He passed away on Wednesday, the 26th of Tishrei 5787.

He was 91 years old.

Important: The family has requested that, due to medical concerns and on doctors’ instructions, no mention of Rabbi Prager’s passing be made to his wife, Mrs. Prager, who has not yet been informed.

Rabbi Prager was known for his warmth, heartfelt educational songs, and dedication to Chinuch Al Taharas Hakodesh, Ahavas Yisroel, Derech Eretz, and Kibbud Av V’Eim. His Crown Heights home was renowned for its Hachnosas Orchim, welcoming guests from around the world and serving as a place of inspiration and guidance.

He also played a role in establishing Chadrei Torah Ohr in Israel and was a passionate advocate for Shleimus HaAretz and Inyonei Moshiach.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Simcha Prager, and their children; Yanky Preger, Berel Preger, and Mrs. Leah Goldstein, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Levaya will take place today, Wednesday, passing by 770 at approximately 2:00pm.
