Free Transportation Available for Crown Heights Seniors Through JCCGCI

The Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island (JCCGCI) is offering no-cost transportation services to Crown Heights residents age 60 and older, providing rides to medical appointments, essential services, and community activities.

The program offers several transportation options based on individual needs, including individual car service, ambulette transportation, van shuttles to Older Adult Centers, and group bus trips for shopping, recreation and educational activities.

Transportation is provided at no cost to eligible older adults. Riders can also schedule their return trip when they are ready, rather than having to predict in advance when an appointment will end.

JCCGCI has provided transportation to older adults since 1981 and currently serves seniors throughout Brooklyn. During the past year, the organization provided more than 112,000 transportation services to nearly 7,000 older adults, averaging approximately 450 trips per day.

The program’s multilingual staff speaks English, Spanish, Hebrew, Hungarian, Russian, Chinese and Yiddish. Enrollment can be processed immediately over the phone, with staff also able to connect seniors with other programs and benefits for which they may qualify.
