Mashpi’im Available for Crown Heights

Tzeirei Agudas Chabad/Lubavitch Youth has sent out a press release announcing the launch of a new initiative. The initiative, appointing five Mashpi’im, whose role would be to attend to the needs of Chabad families in the Crown Heights community.

Having a mashpia is something that the Rebbe campaigned for with great vigor, with its practical necessity being so vital that it can’t be overstated.

Rabbi Yehoshua Werde, Rabbi Sholom Zirkind, Rabbi Chaim Yisroel Wilhelm, Rabbi Meyer Soussan, and Rabbi Shneur Zalman Goldberg have already been involved in Mashpia roles in various capacities for many years. Now Tzach is harnessing their abilities to serve the greater Chabad Community of Crown Heights.

They will be able to be contacted by email:

Wonderful! Yasher koach to R. Kastel for arranging this, and to the mashpi’im for making themselves available.

  • More details please

Sounds like a great plan! It would be really great if this initiative had more info and details.

Go right ahead. Feel free to ask them.
These 5 do not take away or negate anyone else.

      Reb pinyah And reb Yoel
Are Out of touch Of Our generation
      There Big Tzadikim
      But from the past generation

while i agree that it’s nice that we have some young mashpi’im but ch”v to say reb yoel and reb pinya are out of touch, and not from this generation.
young chasidim need to be mekabel from eltere chasidim.
it’s a few out of touch people who think that the younger generation are not keilim for that…

“49 year,” was that really necessary? Those who consider them “out of touch of our generation” wouldn’t have been consulting them anyway. So why put up a publicly viewable comment like that?

The Rebbe stressed that one should have a mashpia
    Asai lecho Rav.

I hope the yungerleit take advantage of this.

Are the emails in left to right order? (Most are familiar to me or I’ve heard them speak but I’m better with faces than names)
Also would love some clarity on when and what a mashpia should be approached about
Also huge yashar koach to these individuals making themselves available to the community

  • Hashgacha Protis

It is Hashgacha Protis that the announcement is made this week:
    אַנְשֵׁי־חַ֜יִל יִרְאֵ֧י אֱלֹקִּ֖ים אַנְשֵׁ֥י אֱמֶ֖ת שׂ֣נְאֵי בָ֑צַע…
Indeed, knowing almost al lof these personally, they are excellent choices to lead.
