Two ‘Tzfatis’ Arrested for Assaulting 770 Cleaners

An altercation between a Mexican cleaning crew hired to prepare 770 for Shabbos and a group of ‘Tzfati’ Bochurim took a violent turn last night, after the Bochurim refused to budge so that the floor could be cleaned.

The maintenance workers attempted to persuade the Bochurim to move to a different location so that the floor beneath them could be cleaned, but received a hostile retort, to which the workers responded in kind.

The cleaners then tried moving the bench themselves, and from there it went to blows. Two Israelis attacked one of the Mexicans with a blunt object, causing him to bleed from his head. One Mexican threatened the Israelis with a paint scraper.

Police were called, and, after hearing both sides and seeing the injury sustained by the maintenance worker, concluded that the Mexicans merely acted in self defense, while two Israelis were arrested for assault and battery.

  • stop blaming tzfatis!

this website clearly has a political agenda, stop blaming all tzfatis for the few who are troublesome, the same way there are troublesome fellows in any faction.

  • who cleans the floors now

So who is going to do the cleaning now, maybe these two fellows will get sentenced to community service.

  • Enough is Enough With These Tzfatis

I hope they rot away in Jail till after Simchas Torah! Enough is Enough with these Tzfati Hooligans!

  • Curious

The Tzefasim — send them all to Mexico.

    — Curious: Are these Mexicans themselves legal immigrants?

#4, Did the article say anything about all Tzfatim? It merely reported that these particular thugs were Tzfatim. You’re the one raising the question of whether they’re all like these thugs. What made you raise that? Is it a sign of a guilty conscience?

But since you bring up the topic, please tell me when was the last time that something like this happened with anyone *but* Tzfatim.

  • ch bb

may you have a gut gebbensht yur
and be able to make a parnasah with out having to trash fellow lubavitchers daily.

  • Those Tzfatis are going to have

a hard time getting back into the USA since they aren’t USA citizens and they committed a crime in the USA

  • take respon

What a chillul hashem. But u can’t necessarily punish the parents. Let the boys themselves pay for their actions.

  • Bochurim ?

Who do you call Bochurim ?
    this are tzfaty terrorists

as to the Jewish law it is considered as a desecration of a holly shull. the workers are working for the sacred place.

  • the visionary

zalmen lipskar is to blame for all of this, he protects them and hooligans shwei and braun , who happens to be his nephew.

  • Milhouse

#20, I repeat, the article doesn’t say anything about all tzfatis, so why are you bringing them up? But since you raise the question, when was the last time anything like this was done by anyone *else*? It is simply not true that “there are troublesome fellows [who would do something like this] in any faction”.

  • #25 do you know crown heights familes

If yes you should know about how many crown heights bochrim did worse things than these 2 Tzfatis did

  • Simminy Stuart

Number 19. I didn’t think Crown Heights would publish my words of the blood spilling on Eastern Prkway. I ask mechila for anyone who read my notes… I should not have written, I hope that the chicken I spun over my head fo kaparos will serve as an eternal kappara this year for me. I am just so mad and frustrated of hearing story after story of these damn tzfatim.

  • ch resident

to #4 – if the shoe fits wear it –

these tzfati’s are the trouble makers – send them all home and let them destroy their own property

  • zal

    to the editors:
please remove those disgusting words of #12.
its words that were brought to the world by egyptians, romans, inquisition, and nazi’s yemach shmam.
and dont say that you didnt write it, cause it was your desicion to publish it, thereby letting us yidden hear again the words of hitler yemach shmo.
IF you continue in this path, may Hashem in Heaven protect us from people like you, and do as he sees fit, as he has always done for us.

  • 770

I wonder if the gaboim of 770 can be blamed (and held responsible) for this? after all it happened in the building and it’s not the first time. They KNOW that these ‘kids’ are violent and seem to let it happen.

  • meyer

o.k , misunderstandings happen , however in the big picture of things the tsfatum have an agenda. what is that agenda? decode that and you’ll have a better understanding of why this fight is only the beginning /continuation of more to come.

  • Disgruntled Crown Heigtser

Sadly, many Tishrei guests don’t quite behave like guests at all. Somehow they think that they are here to take over and decide how 770 should be run.
They behave in despicable manner such as not allowing cleaning crew do their job, spit when they pass Rabbi Krinsky in the street etc.
Who is their Rosh Yeshiva? Who takes responsibility for their unacceptable behavior?
Someone needs to get to the core of the problem.
Tishrei should be a time for “Zman Simchaseinu” for the locals as well. (Many stay clear of 770 for the month!!)

  • Someone!

Pathetic, ridiculous, and stupid. Now what will be the follow-through? I think an effective leader should have an intervention of sorts with the two Israeli men. Why can’t a leader with respectability step in and deal with this? Is there not even ONE who will try to be effective and deal with the situation? Come on! Or how about some spiritual guidance for any group of Israelis or any other faction who has shown such inappropriate behavior. How about stepping in, in a way that is not equally as ugly? And as for people like #18, well you are not that much higher on the list of ugly behavior, if you just think for a minute!

  • POOR NUMBER 27

TO NUMBER 27 AND ALL THE REST OF YOU JEWISH ANTI SEMITES. WE DON’T NEED HITLER WITH THE LIKES OF YOU. WHILE I AGREE THAT SOME OF THE ISRAELI BOCHURIM DO NOT BEHAVE PROPERLY (YES, THAT’S PUTTING IT MILDLY), BUT THE FACT REMAINS THEY ARE STILL J E W S!!! LIKE IT OR NOT, AND AS SUCH YOU SHOULD HAVE A LITTLE MORE COMPASSION AND A L OOOOOOOOOOOOOO T LESS VENOMOUS HATRED. THE ONES TO BLAME FOR THEIR NEGATIVE ACTIONS AND ATTITUDES ARE THE HANHALLA IN ISRAEL FOR NOT TEACHING THEM PROPERLY. AS WELL AS THE BIG WHEELS OF 770 WHO ARE WITHOLDING THE EXPANSION AND TOTAL RENOVATIONS OF 770 WHICH MIGHT ENABLE GUESTS TO COME TO “LUBAVITCH WORLD HEADQUARTERS” AND BE TREATED LIKE GUESTS WITH A PLACE TO SIT AND NOT TREATED LIKE BURDENS AND WORSE. IF YOU WANT TO SPEW YOUR HATRED AT LEAST DO IT AT THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE WHO ARE THE CAUSE OF THIS.

  • Mark (mordechai) fasser (a Baal teshuva)

Who ever writes on these sites should remember that there are some things that are not fitting for a chabad person to say. As I was becoming religious I was convinced that no matter how hard you try to get a chabad rabbi to speak bad about his opponent he’ll just stay quiet. That is one of the many reasons my friends and I became religious to chabad. But when I read these horrendous comments I think to myself “ is this really chabad ppl writing this” I’m glad you guys who write these sinful comments even more so right after rosh hashanah don’t put your names because it gives me room to say that it was not a chabadnick who wrote it, nevertheless you should know that if your to embarrased to put your name then you most probably don’t have something nice to say. These comments are so fanatic that I don’t think the rebbe would like what is being written because have in mind if you call yourself a lubavitcher then you accept that he is your rebbe so just think to yourself if the rebbe would want it if not keep it to yourself. not everyone has to know what your mind thinks. With that said I wish everyone a good yom tov and a sweet year it’s never to late to do teshuvah please listen to my words and make these sites a pleasant thing to visit good yom tov

  • Ephraim Grushnit

Those Tzfati’s should be sent whence they came: Tzfat. They are obviously not capable of adapting to western civilisation.

  • Disgusted

“Mexicans?” That is SO politically incorrect, it’s not even funny. You’re sickening.

  • Tracht Gutt

Having lived in Kiryat Chabad of Tzfat 37 years, the problem are not Lubavitch bachurim grown up in Tzfat, but for 25 years its the bachuring who come to the Tzfat yeshiva. Many are fanatical or angry and that Yeshiva is the place which will let them let off steam. The number of not nice things they have done every Tishrei is just Feh.With that, the Rosh Yeshiva, their Mashpia, their teachers whom I know peesonnaly are all very Chasidische, mentchlikeit and good people, but for some reason they don’t take responsibility fo the actions.Or maybe they do, and all we see for that reason are a few incidents rather than hundreds. At any rate, its wrong.

  • anonymous

Bochurim have to be taught to act as respectable Bnei Torah you do not hear these stories in Litvishe Yeshivos

  • screufromdetroit

who let the police into 770??? they have no jurisdiction there it is private property! besides the cleanup crew needs to learn their place. they are rude and many suspect ganovim too. they need to learn who they’re working for!

  • Who let the police in?

    To 45:

Let’s say, the police suspect a crime, even in 770, and they want to come in. You are the one at the door facing them. What are you going to do? Tell them to get lost or something? Slam or close the door on them? Good luck!

  • Milhouse

#42 (at least until the numbering changes again, messing everything up): First of all, it sounds like you think being “politically incorrect” is a BAD thing! How weird is that? Why would anyone think it bad? Second, what on earth is wrong OR un-PC about “Mexicans”? It’s what you call people from Mexico, isn’t it?

  • Milhouse

#45 (for now), who asks who let the police in, where did you get the idea that police can’t enter private property if a crime has been committed there?

  • Milhouse

#44 (for now), who tries with (what seems like) a straight face to make us believe that “you do not hear these stories in Litvishe Yeshivos”. Thank you for the joke, I haven’t laughed like that in a while. It’s good for the nerves to have a good belly laugh. So relaxing.

O I know Solomon hamelech wrote wine is a mocker strong drink is a brawler !
Drink, fight, don’t use weapons and soon October will come to a close !
Soon it will be Kislev and the Chanukah lights will be lit !
The next generation will also know some of histories truths !
It isn’t possible to make all the people happy all the time !

  • Disgusted

Milhouse – the majority of the Hispanics working in Crown Heights are NOT in fact from Mexico. Therefore, they are NOT “Mexicans.” In our modern lexicon, “Mexicans” has become an unfortunately derogative blanket term with a slew of negative connotations.
