So for a few dollars we have a mikvah that we can bend Chabad laws and make it according to the misnagdum who hate us and crop our pictures.

    Feh feh feh

  • former CHer

Wow. To see all three rebonim being honorEd together at a public event outside of 770!

Maybe CH finally bottemed out and we can only go higher from here.

    Boruch hatov vhameitiv.

  • Who needs gezeh

I wonder if Lakewood or agudah will make a mikvah with a boir al gabai boir in adtion to min hatzad.

I cant belive this is what we came to. No wonder they treat us like second class Jews.

  • Crown heighter

Unlike out of town mikvahs this mikvah is for Chabad by Chabad.
    Shame on the organizers.

Better an old mikvah then one that is new and not according to Chabad only

  • Very excited!

Rabbi’s Osdoba, Schwei AND Braun are all in the same picture!!
Is there truly a semblance of peace amongst the Rabbonim of the Rebbes neighbourhood??
This is truly exciting! keep it up Rabbonim!

  • why so much money?

why do we need the nicest mikvah in the world and spend millions of dollars? lets spend half and give the other to the needy families in CH or to or local schools!

shame on the people collecting all this money just to say they made the nicest mikvah in the world

  • To #3

Of course the mikvah should be the nicest in the world. That is the way mikvaos are meant to be. Stop complaining.

  • To #3

Number 3 first off what is it your bussines what this deticated individuals collected for if you don’t want to give don’t and if you think someone needs to collect for people in Crown Hights get off your high horse and do it your self. Second it doesn’t say one of the nicest it says one of the most Kosher.

appreciate the mikvah but dont appreciate how it is very unsafe for us to walk half the time there is a sidewalk then like this morning when the cement trucks were there i had to cross with 3 kids in the middle of the road.

  • question

#1 what are you talking about?!?!?! its according to the alter rebbe no questions asked?!!!!!!

and second of all- what does MOST MEHUDUR mean?? if it has hashkacha it has to be the best and most mehudur

  • #1, what are u talking about?

if u have a complaint, spell it out.
This mikva is bor al gabai bor, with all the hedurim of Chabad. In addition, it will be stunning mikva where women will feel comfortable and relaxed. This is what the Rebbe wanted all mikvas to be, and B”H finally CH is getting one.

  • Kol haKavod

Why all the negativity? This is such a beautiful (and very needed) thing. Kol hakavod to everyone involved. Mikvahs should be beautiful… just ask the shluchim. IY”H the other mikveh should follow suit… build more rooms, renovate, and let those who can, make it one of the nicest mikvehs as well. When the Yidden came to Moshe Rabbeinu to complain that Eldad and Medad were still prophesizing, what did Moshe say? Halavi everyone should be prophesying! We don’t have to worry about spending money on a beautiful mitzvah. Hashem has plenty of money to spread around.

  • chatzkel

bending chabad laws (comment 1)? what are you dreaming? why do we need the nicest mikvah (comment 3)? most mehudar halachically doesn’t mean nicest in the world, but even if, what’s your problem? of course the mikvah needs to be very beautiful! go out and raise funds for needy families in CH, but that has nothing to do with building a beautiful mikvah!

  • Milhouse

#1 You are right that bor al gabei bor is the biggest hiddur, and there’s no reason to add an extra bor just to satisfy the misnagdim, but when you build a mikveh you’ll do it your way, and these people are building it their way. Yasher koach to them.

#10, it says the most mehudar mikveh, not the nicest. And a mehudar mikveh is the most important thing. What’s the point of raising families if there’s no tahara and kedusha?

#14, what has the Alter Rebbe got to do with anything? Why did you bring his name into this?

  • it is not proper for so many men

it is not proper for so many men to be hanging around over there
it should be done more privately
let them go check out a men’s mikvah
    let the Rabbonim come obviously
but not every step of this has to be posted
nor do quotes about how the organizers think that everyone else in the world will be looking to THEM to see how a beautiful Mikvah is built
a bit too much haughty comments and too much publicity for something that is supposed to be more private

  • #1 is an IGNORAMUS

According to the Rebbe Rashab, it is BETTER to have BOTH boros.
it is difficult to do and expensive and high maintenance etc, and if there is a CHOICE, we choose bor al gabei bor, however, it is CERTAINLY better to have BOTH if you CAN!!

  • Boir

    To 14?

Katz uses the word mehudar he will NOT use the word Kosher. Becuse it has a boir al gabei boir.

  • Boruch W

It’s easy to criticize. True there are other needs that are important and it could have been done cheaper, true Bor al gabei bor should suffice, but when people are doing a good thing, we should commend them for their good work. Not sit behind anonymity to besmirch their good work. Not to mention that they are working their backs off to get this accomplished while we do nothing.

  • The Facts!

Here are some of the facts about this new mikvah being built.

Fact: All the Rabonim of CH advised to use rabbi Katz to have the most mehudar mikvah.

Fact: This mikvah is being built only according to the Chabad cos toms and shitos.

Fact: although in other locations rabbi katz does build mikvoas to satisfy other minhogim, this one will be more mehudar without bending the rules.

Fact: the Rebbe said a mikvah, its walls hallways and everything about it should be built nice clean and beautiful so woman should want to use it and have a pleasant and uplifting experience.

Fact: this mikvah will be beautiful halachkly and and in its design look and feel.

Fact: the mikvah needs more funds to help finish the project

Fact: you can help out by going to http://www.MikvahCM.com

“According to the Rebbe Rashab, it is BETTER to have BOTH boros.”

    Source, #22?

  • What a SHAME !!!

this mikvah should be named “BNEI YISHMOEL”

shame on the rabbi’s who participated in the sham

How in the world one can builed a “mikveh” and hurt JEWS ???

this is not a mikveh this is congragation bais yishmoel club

    STOP HURTING JEWS…

this lot was always a machloikes lot

#27: doesn’t look like the Rebbe Rashab said this, but our Rebbe did. See sources and quotes in Berel Levin’s book on mikvaos, chapter 9.

  • awacs

“See sources and quotes in Berel Levin’s book on mikvaos, chapter 9.”

Where is this book available? I don’t see it in Kehos’ store?

  • Milhouse

#23, “According to the Rebbe Rashab, it is BETTER to have BOTH boros”. Since when? Where did you hear such a thing?

  • Milhouse

#30, I just checked with Berel Levin himself, and he said the exact opposite. Where there is a bor underneath it’s better NOT to have another bor on the side, because of the shayla of zochalin.
