Photos: The Aftermath of the Labor Day Parade

Going for a walk Monday evening, our photographer observed crews hard at work cleaning up the mounds of trash left behind by the hundreds of thousands of revelers, who paraded down Eastern Parkway that day to celebrate West Indian heritage and culture.

  • Slow News Day

Make a complaint to Mayor Bloomberg as if he cares and see what’s his opinion is about all of this.

Compare this to any TEA Party movement rally, where 100,000 or more can come together, and yet leave the place cleaner than they found it!

but there were only stabbings and shooting casualties, no deaths….maybe things are improving with them?
why are people often their own worse enemies.

  • Nice culture

So that is all they have to show for their heritage?
Why not cancel it like they did for the Electric Zoo music festival on Randalls Island?

  • =\

shouldnt there be a law that they need to dispose of their garbage neatly in garbage bags or they get fined??? Kudos to sanitation and NYPD- saw them cleaning up past 2 am- clean (yet stinky) streets this am!

Excuse me but doesn’t anyone believe in picking up their trash and properly disposing it?

sorry, but aftermath of simchas beis doesnt look any better and its for more than one day. so give them a break! learn how to be considerate as well and not racist !

This group that runs this parade and activities should be financially repsonsible for the cost of the clean up–maybe that might inspire them to be neater.

  • What do you expect

It takes some time to clean up after a big party.
Lihavidil, what does Eastern Parkway look like on Sichas Toiroh night after the outdoor Kiddush. Give the sanitation workers a day or two and it will be cleaned up. There are enough emese problems with our wonderful shcheininm, don’t go manufacturing spurious ones.

Ksvch”t to all klal yisroel .

  • just sayin..

A compilation of ‘trash ONLY’ pics of Mardi Gras celebration would look pretty nasty too.
