Car Towed After Parking in Spot Reserved for Hatzalah

A vehicle whose owner recklessly parked it in front of 770ย in a spot reserved for Hatzalah was towed by the NYPD this morning.

The space behind where the ambulance in parked is kept empty to ensure there is ample room for a stretcher to be loaded onto the ambulance. The space is also used for Hatzalah members to swiftly park their own car when taking the ambulance on call.

The red Toyota Camry was taken to the NYPD car pound, where the owner will be able to redeem after paying a fine and towing fee.

  • Fair enough

I often see cars parking there recklessly as the drivers dash into 770 for a quick mincha. Good….about time.

    • Hold it

Those people that dash in for Mincha, many are Hatzoloh members that are not on an emergency but find it convenient to park there. A police car should not park illegally just because they won’t get ticketed. A hatzoloh member should not park there, unless there is an emergency, if only to show an example to everyone else.

Kol Hakavod to Hatzoloh members, but you need to realize that people see you parking there and figure they will do the same

i have send in the pictures ,
this driver parked at a No standing , it was a Hatzolo Ambulance place , he deserves to be his car towed ,

How do you lazy guy park your car on Hatzolo place when they are on a call ?

  • enuff

absolutely the right thing to do.

it is downright selfish and patenly wrong to even attempt to park in htose places.

hopefully this will give notice to others that abuse it.

it also wasnt a Hatzolo member , no sign or an indication on his car saying so,

don’t forget even the hatzoloh member going for a mincha when a call comes over he stops what he is doing and takes the call i daven with the 6 oclock minyan for shachris in 770 with a hatzo;oh member and almost every week he runs out to answer a call during davening and he is parked there so remember ………

  • its about time

  • Fresser Rebbe

    BH

I usually would see Tzvi Hirsh Shpielman placing one of those flashy orange stickers, on the window of a vehicle parked at the Hatzoloh parking spots in front of Seven Seventy, it is real nice to see Tzvi Hirsh busy doing his Mitzvos, cus he’s a “Mitzvah man”

  • Think about it

Did someone ask a shaylah if this is mesira or was it assumed to be allowed? I know many in the community are maykil in the issur of mesira but it is possible that the mosser must pay the damages he caused via the mesira!

Hatzolah members park there so if a call comes through they dont have to run a block to their cars second usally if a member parks there and a call comes through he will take the ambulance so think before you bash out loyal servents!!!!!!!!
