Latest Beating gets Massive Media Attention
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI — After the latest beating in Crown Heights of a Jewish teen (Click Here for Story), tons of news vans from various stations, including CBS 2, NBC 4, FOX 5, ABC 7, CW 11, and News 12 BK, they were seen interviewing people at the scene of the incident, including some Shomrim members. BUCHER VICIOUSLY BEATEN LAST NIGHT, A 16 year old boy was found lying bloodied & unconscious on Albany between leferts and Empire after having been robbed and beaten (allegedly by two black males) WE WILL MARCH IN PROTEST today at 5pm from the site of the attack to the 71st precinct , with a clear and angry message that we and our families will not be harassed and assaulted at will, that the Jewish community will not be held hostage by any other ethnic groups in our neighborhood and that we expect a swift arrest of the perpetrators as well as the protection of the police which we deserve. Big News!
Jew hits non Jewish boy, oh no the Jews are a bunch of racist, Al Sharpten and his followers immediately make a big Woo and calls down the media to crown heights and try to make a big commotion. Oh no it was a son of a cop, Brooklyn DA Charles Hynes gets involved and has the story not only blown out of proportion but make all the reports on this incident look like our community is made up of a bunch of hooligans who just constantly look out to make problems.
Last night marked once again one of many attacks on our community, a young boy was viciously beaten and robbed, were is Al Sharpten, Were is Charles Hynes… why don’t they both get involved in such a situation are they both being bios? Isn’t it the district attorney job to hear both sides of a story, doesn’t he look into crime that takes placed both White/Jew on Black the same way as Black on White/Jew. Isn’t Al sharpten who claims to have the Black community support supposed to become a teacher, an educator during such a moment and to use his media connections for attention to show his own community that they should not lower the level of the black community by committing these crimes and end up having the world look down on them?
This is the common feeling of us our community as much as we look down upon a alleged story of one of our community members hitting a non Jew, we also still remember all of the many crimes that are committed against our community with nothing no media attention, no Hnyes, no Sharpten, just a lousy group of Cops looking to convince you out of making a Report on the incident getting them out of some extra paper work and a higher crime rating.
So what happens when you have an incident like the one that took place on Carroll and Albany, and you see the reaction of all the above mentioned people, we the community begin to wonder, we begin to question, What were the exchange of words that the cops son himself said that their was before the alleged beating, what is the other side of the story? We also question, who is the Brooklyn DA, what is his job, why is he so quite during other cases of crises in crown heights.
Last night Jewish Blood was spilled, our community is angry, we feel cheated and violated by our own community leaders, by the media, and by the people that in the government that’s jobs are to make a strong stance against crime. Politicians come… politicians go… what remains is your history, history that you write yourself. Your job is to build up connections with higher power but is also to stand up to what is right and what is wrong. Those who are truthful to themselves and to what they stand for will make their own Woo and let the world know that some things are just not tolerated. And last to the media your job is not to write the story, but to tell it all as it happens, your job is to question both sides and show both sides, and then let the viewers decide.

I been following the incidents and politics in crown Heights lately.. I do have relatives there. It’s very troubling to me that it seems crown heights is getting a disproportionate / unfair share of tension and problems. I work in east New York and I am very much exposed to the local people in that neighborhood (although it’s not Crown Heights the general neighborhood class of people I can compare it to CH …) there is very little element of anti Semitism to us from blacks. The underling tension MUST BE DEFUSED by simple acts of courtesy towards them. Just simple behavioral edict, nothing more. A Hello , Good morning, Hi, how do you do?.. Excuse me , …I’m sorry … All this can go a long way in fixing a good part of these problems.

what doesint make sence is that i was walking with my friend montgomery an d albany while the abmulences were drivingt o the scene and i was in middle of sayin ghow safe i feel b/c the streets were filled with ppl!i mean,there had to be ppl passing by him while he was getting attacked!we jsut have to think“what would i do if i was jsut one block down and saw this guy being beaten up?” i know i might jsut be a high school girl and that shvartz can go right after to me,but i would atleast call the police or s/t if i saw what was happening!

There is a war going on and the best defense is a good offence. Also, appeasement is more likely to make your adversary bolder (ex. Middle East) 1). We need to start organizing martial arts classes so that everybody can defend themselves properly. 2) It would be great if we could have a system that uses GPS where one could press a panic button and their co-ordinates could be transmitted to the security patrols. In the meantime everyone should carry mace or pepper spray and not walk alone.

To thous who say it is our fault that we are not nice to blacks I say this is blaming the victim . Are they nice to us ? Will being nice to a mugger will make him stop ? I try to say Hello , Please and Thank you to all people I meet regardless of who they are. My mother brought me up this way. But I still get a lot of negative racial comments from black residents , just because I happened to be Jewish.
I believe that if we finally make sholom amongst out selves / as in Shmira and Shomrim finally cooperating / we will become a less desirable target. Police is not going to do anything it is up to us to pressure them all the time. Let them be more afraid of what we are going to do , then of the anger of the other side.

i would just like to point out something that i have noticed.
i found it extremely puzzling, but on the corner of Albany and empire there are posters hanging stating that if you any info about any crime you should call to the PD….all very nice but might you take a single step in any direction (away from that corner, even on the same block) u will not see any signs with anything of the like.
that is right just the four corners of that block has a few signs, and that is it!!
it is obvious that those signs were hung just so that it shall in the news camera’s view.
I personally think this should be a front page story
