Woman Attacked Next to Prospect Park

In a harrowing surveillance video released by the NYPD, a woman is seen walking alone at night on the western edge of Prospect Park, when she is attacked from behind by a man who proceeds to assault her and attempt to rape her.

The incident occurred early Sunday morning, shortly before 4:00am, on 16th St. in Windsor-Terrace, about one block from Prospect Park’s southwest entrance.

The video shows a man approach the 34-year-old woman from behind and knock her to the ground, pull up her skirt and then hit her several times in an attempt to subdue her.

The woman desperately fights back, and eventually the would-be rapist gives up and runs away.

Police say the woman refused medical attention.

  • DeClasse' Intellectual

Two important lessons from this unfortunate incident: (1) never walk alone, especially at night, (2) CARRY MACE OR PEPPER SPRAY AND KNOW HOW TO USE IT.

  • Quit the politically correct BS and post the video.

Sometimes a bit of trauma is the best lesson
