Hoodlums Cause Explosion on Subway Tracks

A new video posted to YouTube has sparked the interest of the MTA and the NYPD. The video shows an explosion of sparks after a subway train hits something on the tracks at the Nostrand Avenue stop in Crown Heights.

The train operator pulled an emergency brake, stopping the train, sources told CBS News. The operator then got out of the train and removed the obstruction from the tracks.

Police believe the incident, which took place last Thursday at around 8:15pm, was caused by a piece of metal placed on the tracks by bored teenagers.

In a disturbing trend, teenagers have been putting metal objects on Subway tracks in order to create such explosions.

Police are investigating the incident as a case of criminal mischief

In a statement, the MTA’s Adam Lisberg said if the video is real, “it is unconscionable that vandals would have deliberately endangered the lives of our customers and employees, as well as delayed thousands of customers during the morning rush. ”

Great. Now the subways will be slowed down even more to check for terrorist threats on the tracks.

This did not happen at the Nostrand Avenue and Eastern Parkway station. It happened on the Nostrand Avenue stop on the ‘C’ line.

(30 minute delay)*(2000 commuters) = (125 8 hour shifts of community service or 42 days jail). But suspend the sentence to get us off the hook for holding up the genial.
