Video: UPS Worker Steals from Crown Heights Home
A UPS deliveryman dropped off a package at a home on Montgomery St. this week; after the package was accepted, he pretended to leave, but when the door was shut he returned to the foyer and stole a pair of gloves worth $35.
The family confronted the employee the next day, and to their surprise he admitted to the crime and apologized profusely for what he had done. He promptly returned the gloves, and said he has no idea what came over him.
The family accepted his apology, and declined to press charges against him.
His employer had already been notified of the crime, however, and he was fired shortly thereafter.
Work gloves with reflective strip
Looks like a pair of work gloves with reflective stripes. Note how it reflects light from the infra-red camera, like the stripes on the chest and back of his uniform jacket.
Perhaps he thought they were his.
We need to be more careful!
What did he take?
I hope that he was reported

Agree with number 1.
CH-er
doesnt look like a UPS driver to me,
1) no uniform
2) he never had the scanner to sign by the customer.

They are not our friends!
I would think that if the homeowner actually went over the surveillance tapes it wasn’t the first time something like this happened with the same UPS driver.

Looks to me like a clear case of inviting theft: the foyer is open to the street, inviting strangers to enter.
which block?
Does anyone know which blocks this UPS delivery man services?
not so sure
I agree with #1. He might have left them there before & remembered to pick them up, they look the same brown as his uniform.
Just saying
Perhaps they were his and that wasn’t the first package that he delivered. maybe he put his gloves down when he first got there. Why would somone move so slowly after he store something and why steal while talking onthe phone???
malca b
hope she call ups and reported it and hope they fire his arse and thow im in jail

he wouln’t hold it up like that as if to put in on display if he were stealing, perhaps he left them there, and simply just going back to get them.
seriously!
why does eveyone have to be so judemental, seriously! they were probobly his gloves or somthing and forgot them.
hmmm...
he seems to be wearing gloves…. why do we just suppose they are gloves?

He was fired by UPS after the security specialists watched the tape. They were not UPS gloves. When the owner of the gloves confronted the driver, he gave them back when he was told they had a tape.
Its a case of someone with sticky fingers, who should not be working for UPS.
Agree with 6
That’s definitely a scanner – didn’t you see the glare ????? Gloves don’t glare? And it was a hard object.

Every house should be installing cameras. Every street and street corner should be under surveillance. The times we live in.

Why did the family not press charges? This only makes people like him think they can get away with it.
