Thug Who Robbed and Shot Two Apprehended

A pistol-packing thug who robbed and shot two people in Crown Heights last week was apprehended by detectives, after he committed a third such robbery in the neighboring 73rd precinct.

Police have reported that the 22-year-old suspect was apprehended in Brownsville, Brooklyn, where he attempted to commit a robbery at gunpoint.

After he was taken into custody, detectives matched the suspect to two additional robberies which took in a similar manner in Crown Heights. Last week Sunday, August 10th, two people were robbed at gunpoint and then shot at around 3:00am.

The first robbery occurred on Albany Avenue near Midwood Street, and the second one just a short while later on Utica Avenue near Winthrop Street.

Both victims survived.

After being taken into custody, the suspect was placed in a lineup and the Albany Avenue victim was able to positively identify him; he was charged with that robbery as well.

The second victim is not cooperating with the police.
