Woman Shot on Crown Street Following Argument

An argument between two women on Crown Street near Kingston Avenue turned violent early this morning, when one of the women pulled a gun and shot the other twice in the leg. Both fled the scene, but the victim later walked into the emergency room at Kings County Hospital.

A woman walked into the Kings County Emergency Room early Wednesday morning with a gunshot wound to her leg. Hospital staff notified police of the incident and following an investigation learned that the victim was shot on Crown Street off Kingston Avenue.

Earlier, at around 4:50am, a Kingston Avenue resident heard gunshots and called Shomrim. A number of volunteers quickly responded and searched the area for a potential victim, though none was found. Police arrived a short while later, after receiving a similar call, and also found nothing.

After the victim walked into the emergency room and told detectives that she was shot on Crown Street near Kingston Avenue, as well as who had shot her, police returned and set up a crime scene, where shell casings were recovered.

Police sources told CrownHeights.info that the shooter was apprehended and the firearm was recovered.

This is so crazy. It used to be these shootings took place in real terrible neighborhoods – or has Crown Heights become that? What a world you poor guys live in.

BH this happened at 5 am and not 10 am etc.. Also there is no guarantees anywhere look at the north Miami beach tragedy… Thank you to the agencies mentioned in the article for their great work.

  • what's CH coming to...

Whenever there is a crime commited in Crown Heights someone says “oy va voy” what’s becoming of Crown Heights. Whoever makes those comments obviously was not around in the “bad old days” of the 70s and 80s when crime was MUCH worse than now. Any crime is no good and things are still far from perfect but the neighborhood has come a long, long way, and will continue to improve as gentrification continues. Gentrification brings it’s own set of problems to the shechuna, but does push out undesirable elements from which crime stems from.

    • Gentrification

will not only push out undesirable elements, but will make it impossible to have that cozy Jewish community we all love. Treif restaurants will be spread throughout the community, nightclubs and all the other chazerai CV”S.

I spy the House of Glatt sign, it says that ” we continue to serve the Chabad community with kashrus, quality and HONESTY”
