Rowdy Teen Arrested for Kingston Ave. Vandalism

A 16-year-old public high school student was arrested this morning after he destroyed several gumball machines belonging to a Kingston Ave. merchant.

The incident occurred at around 8:00am. The owner of Regency Dry Cleaners, located on Kingston Ave. near Crown St., was opening his store for business and setting up some coin-operated children’s rides and gumball machines that are kept overnight in the shop’s basement.

The storeowner stepped inside for a moment to take a phone call just as a group of teenaged public high-school students passed by. The storeowner watched as one of them, a 16-year-old boy, pushed his gumball machine stand down the basement stairs, destroying them completely and making a huge and difficult-to-clean mess.

Determined not to be a silent victim and let this brazen act of vandalism pass, the storeowner called Shomrim and followed the group as they continued up Kingston Ave.

Several Shomrim volunteers arrived at the scene, while another went to summon a police officer from the mobile command station on Eastern Parkway.

All while walking up Kingston Ave. the group of teenagers was acting very rowdy, screaming, fighting and making a scene.

When the police arrived, the storeowner pointed out the one who vandalized his property, and the teenager was promptly arrested. A witness told CrownHeights.info that the teenager acted very belligerently to the police officers, was very unapologetic and fiercely resisted arrest.

The suspect was taken to the 71st Precinct, were he was charged – as an adult – with criminal mischief.

  • listen to the Rebbe

Is playing cops and robbers fun? “Let’s get the bad guy! I can feel my adrenaline go! Is he spraying graffiti? Stealing from a store on Kingston ave? That no goodnik! Serves him right, let him go to jail!” WRONG! This IS NOT what the Rebbe wanted! The Rebbe said specifically, that America DOES NOT NEED MORE POLICE AND MORE JAILS! The Rebbe said that “A Moment of Silence,” and teaching the 7 Noahide laws is the solution. The Rambam says it’s the obligation of every Jew to teach the 7 Noahide laws. The OBLIGATION!
I’m so sorry that someone’s store was vandalized. But can someone please give me a hand with spreading 7 Noahide laws and Moment of silence in Crown Heights!?!
