Wheel Theft of the Day: Union and Albany

After a month-long hiatus, the Crown Heights wheel thieves are back in business. A black Lexus parked on Union St. near Albany Ave. was their latest victim.

These brazen thefts have been occurring on a regular basis and will continue until the thieves are caught. The targeted cars have been mostly new and in the upper range, though some older and cheaper vehicles have fallen victim as well.

In the meantime, be sure to protect your vehicle in as many ways as possible so you do not become a victim. Anti-theft lug nuts and car tilt alarms are two examples of relatively simple safety measures that can be added to a vehicle.

Remember, even if an added security measure isn’t 100% foolproof, it will still likely deter thieves from targeting your car and cause them to move on to an easier target.

thanks CHI for the 2 suggestions, but there are too many options and it doesn’t tell you what you need and how to put it on can someone please share with us the simple steps we need to take to protect our lexus

  • The truth can be frightening

it probably stopped because the main thief was probably in Jail or on Vacation until the new Mayor came in but of course now that we Have a Liberal who’s only concern is money & Tickets add to that there is no real reason to make a real effort to catch crooks who only target Jews & small stuff when there is money to be made residents to harrass etc.
