3 Hooligans Apprehended by Shomrim

Crown Heights [CHI] — Three teenagers were arrested Tuesday evening after being followed by a group of vigilant Shomrim volunteers who witnessed them kick in a window and break into a home on President Street.

The incident began at approximately 10:00 PM, the Shomrim hotline rang with a caller reporting a group of three teens walking on Albany Avenue shouting and throwing glass bottles indiscriminately. A Shomrim volunteer who happened to be just one block over began following them and observed their increasingly disorderly behavior.

More Shomrim volunteers began arriving on scene to back each other up and continue observing, and at this point only making sure that they don’t do any harm to anyone.

The group, described as African-Americans in their mid-teens, settled on the front lawn of a home on the corner of President Street and Albany Avenue. Shomrim observed one of the group kick in a basement window and they all went into the house – which happened to be vacant and under construction.

Shomrim immediately called 911 as well as the owner of the home, swarmed the property and nabbed two of the teens; the third attempted to flee but he was chased and apprehended a half a block away.

Police arrived on scene and after hearing from Shomrim they took the teens into custody and determined that they were all juveniles and needed a sergeant at the scene in order to make an arrest. He arrived a short while later and gave the order to make the arrest, while thanking Shomrim for their excellent work and professionalism in handling the situation.

CrownHeights.info later learned that the police called up the teens’ parents to have them come pick their children up – since they were all juveniles; one parent refused and told police to send their kid to juvenile detention as they did not want their kid back.

  • SAME THING HAPPENED AT SHUL

Nice you caught them. I worked for a shul, they kicked in the door, stole and did tons of damage and were never caught.

  • way-to-go Shomrim

Good job, maybe one day you guys will get the community support you deserve.

  • THE 3RD ONE

The one whose paretns don’t want him back – he’s the one you will see getting locked away for life inside the next 5 years for a more hideous crime. Someone should chronicle his life from here and see for yourself.

  • smart parent

  • What Break in?

That house a nu-sense it should be fixed up or sold. Clear the stumbling blocks from Crown Heights

  • I Want To Move

Rabbi Meir Kahane a”h advised us to move out of CH to Israel. That was just before he was killed and the pogrom happened in 1991 (I am sure this was the only real pogrom to happen in the USA). Rabbi Kahane predicted the pogrom and it happened. If Kan Tziva Hashem Es HaBracha, why was he right? Why do we have to stay here?

More black leftist anti-semitism. It just keeps mounting up. Why don’t the Jews of Crown Heights apply for gun permits. They are entitled to protect themselves, after all it is a second amendment right. But wait, the communist Obama is trying to abolish that right. He would rather see poor scared Jews at the mercy of politically correct leftist thugs, like the hooligans in this case, who vandalize synogauges. Probably the hooligans have guns but many Jews don’t. It is no wonder why Bernie Geotz got an illegal gun back in the 80’s. What choice did he have as political correctness screwed him over, as it does the Jews in Crown Heights.

  • Moshe Rubenstein

Nothing in this article spoke of Anti-Semitism. We ought to save the phrase for when it is really needed. The article was about unruly kids! Whites are more anti semitic than blacks check your history or did you learn nothing in shul?

To number 13, you are right. Based on the other comments that I read about this story, I got the impression that they vandalized a synogauge. The article did mention black youths, and had they vandalized a synogauge, my statement would have been correct. But apparently that is not the case. If possible, please let me know how I can delete my comment for this story.
