Vigilant Police Officer Nabs Wanted Burglar
With hot summer months driving up crime, many additional officers have been added to the streets. One officer, stationed on Utica Ave, recognized a man wanted for a string of burglaries from a wanted poster. After a short pursuit the suspect was arrested.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at around 3:00pm on Utica Avenue near Union Street. The uniformed patrolmen spotted a man who he recognized as wanted for past burglaries in a area. The officer pulled up the flyer on his phone and confirmed his suspicion.
Once calling for backup police officers attempted to apprehend the man who fled, but police quickly caught up with him. After violently resisting arrest officers were able to subdue him and take the suspect into custody.
Police sources told CrownHeights.info that the suspect was wanted for a string of burglaries stretching back to May of this year. The suspect gained entry into homes through open windows on fire escapes and stole many pieces of Jewelry in the area. The suspect is also known for many other robbery and drug related crimes.
The police department would like to remind local residents how important it is to lock all your doors and windows to prevent intruders from breaking in. The NYPD offers free security surveys where an officer will inspect your home and give you tips on how to make it safe. WELL DONE!!
Racial profiling?
If he was white, the cop would never have pulled up the wanted poster! I bet he’s going to sue now, just as soon as he is released, probably by tomorrow afternoon!
No, Seriously, we need more good cops, lots in plain clothes.
Lets get rid of all the scum, no matter what color.
