  • Why get him arrested??

It’s just an umbrella, why get the kid arrested? Maybe he couldn’t afford one…so dramatic for no reason…

    • CHLEAKS.COM

today “It’s just an umbrella” and tomorrow “it’s just an iphone” and the day after that “he just stabbed someone because he refused to give over his wallet, at-least the guy is still alive”. Etc…etc…

Stupid stupid thinking. this line of thinking only helps the aggressors.

A crime is a crime, no matter how big or small.

To God Almighty is does not make a difference if you steal a penny of a billion dollars. The act of stealing is always the same.

Bottom line, he took something that does not belong to him.

There are still some laws in this land.

I would not be to surprised if you are from those who find it in your bleeding heart to justify acts of violence and Mesira (by so called fellow Jews) as-well.

    • because

It starts with an umbrella. If he indeed didn’t have money he should’ve asked the owner for charity.

You sympathising with a thief makes me thing that you would do it yourself.

    • Problem with society

If anyone ever asks me what is wrong with society today, I will give them a direct link to your comment.

Stealing is stealing. Since when do we differetiate between a small item or large item?

    • It's not about the umbrella

      To #1
It’s not about the umbrella….it won’t stop at the umbrella. The arrest is about STOPPING crimes and making an example even if ‘it was just an umbrella’.

  • larry

#1 u just dont get it. hes doing him a favor and giving him a wake up call that crime dos not pay not that it will make a difference

  • the Squeejy Man Syndrome

They start out by stealing an umbrella. Next week it’s a bike. Next month…your i-phone.

    Get it?

  • Mendel

We did this kid a favor by catching and arrested him. Saved him from the death penalty for his next progressively worse crime.

  • Start Small and end big

To “#1”: There’s so much wrong with your question that it’s probably wasteful to even clarify why. Is the moral, civil and legal issue of theft only for something “big” and only for “rich” people?

I wonder if you’ve ever taken something not yours with an excuse.

An umbrella today — you’re car tomorrow!

Better stop him now and teach him a lesson before he thinks he can get away with theft and steals bigger things.

  • Liberal doushebag

Why get him arrested?! If you’re not being sarcastic, you are insane. Perhaps, you indicate to me where in the Torah it says not to commit theft but petty theft is okay. Theft is theft and against Torah law, civil law and noahide law. And Bank robbers all once upon a time started with petty theft.

Is that what we do when we can’t afford something?? This is basic mentchlichkeit which some kids don’t have…. It’s not their fault true, most of them come from retarded homes, teenage parents, single parents, Parents who yell all day…. Trust me they are not arresting him and locking him up for life, they are teaching all teens a message!

Today it’s an umbrella tommorow it’s your daughter’s cell phone ETC….

  • a local

Yes, and ESPECIALLY when they are left unattended, right outside the store’s front door!

  • OP

get these petty thieves a life. give them community service instead of only jail. they need to learn how to help and be purposeful, not just get punished. they had punishment all their life. How so so pathetic…..

  • yitzchok

according to the law of the seven mitzvoth any goy that steels even less than a penny is surpposed to get the death penalty

  • blablabla

    To Mendel

Yes, we saved him from getting the death penalty. That actually makes total sense. Anyone who steals eventually commits first degree murder. LOL

  • I spy Afrayim the ganiv

He just changed his skin color, so we shouldn’t recognize him..
    But I can see him!
O look its pal behind him!

  • yes, but.......................

I would suggest that you don’t publicize such laws on a public web site which many non Jews possibly visit.

To know the law and not know all of the reason behind the law can cause disharmony.

    • non jew

What law are you talking about? Everybody of every race, religion, atheists, gender know that stealing is wrong.

  • TO # 1

Did you bother watching the closed circuit tv of how he did this???? It WASN’T raining, This was premeditated just for the fun of it because it was such an easy way to practice for, as the above comments said, for bigger and better things. AND to this kid getting arrested is exactly what it is ONE BIG FAT JOKE!!!

  • TO #2

I don’t think you have your facts straight. First of all, stealing an umbrella does NOT lead to stabbing someone. Second of all, if he was a Jewish kid, he probably would not have been arrested. Thirdly, why would you say it doesn’t make a difference to God if you steal a penny or a million dollars?!? They are obviously both wrong but it’s not possible to say they are equally wrong. I am not saying that he should not have been arrested. I’m just letting you know that it’s really not something to be blown out of proportion. This kid took an umbrella and they caught him and got it back. It’s not something to get angry about.
