Maybe 30 people from the whole community showed up and most of them were the honorees themselves. Not nice…..

  • What's going on here

WHAT?! HAS LEIBY BRIKMAN’S ATTACKER BEEN FOUND?? HOW DOES AN EVENT LIKE THIS HAPPEN WHILE THE ATTACKER IS STILL OUT THERE?

whats funny is i dont see any real crown heights residents that attended,

besides the drizins and former chjcc members

  • Ignoring the JFA

An entire event just for the sake of leaving out the real movers and shakers in the community?

  • Wow

Who really cares about a breakfast when an entire community is falling apart how does this help the problems in crownheights

  • Hush Hush On Mayor's Upzoning

Its all laughs and smiles until someone tells the community that in the first week of April, the City Council will vote on :

    1) removing parking requirements for new buildings in Crown Heights that are affordable, senior citizen, nursing homes, and mixed income by BSA permit –

    2) removing oversaturation restrictions (ZR 22-42) allowing unlimited nursing homes, health facilities (mental health and drug related)

    3) the required bedroom mix is for 2 BR, 1 BR and studios –

Two bedroom apts ? Losing Parking Spots ? Hipsters displacing Yids …..

Where does City Council womaenLaurie Cumbo and Darlene Meally stand on the issue they will be voting on ?

Why all these negative comments. Why was the community so poorly represented. For all the haters and negative commentators, why don’t you get involved and make a difference in YOUR community. Stop hiding behind a ghost screen and do something positive to make a difference.

  • #12 Naive

#12 You obviously are either very naive or have not lived here very long.

Our community has a 99% right to be angry and maybe 1% reason to be proud of those “Anash” who “represent” us.

To be politically correct, the CHJCC has been ineffectual. To be brutally honest, the CHJCC and their cohorts are corrupt and have bankrupted this community, physically and spiritually, for Years, in more ways than one can count.

  • Stop whining

This was something positive. Yes, there are many things to ‘fix up’, but why whine? At least, people are trying. Look at your fellow yid with the “right eye”. Let’s do whatever we can for the Rebbe’s shechuna, and not look down at others for what they are doing.

  • wow

    is this a joke?

tel me one thing these guys did in past 25 years. JUST ONE…

they caused huge fights, and splits in the community, im glad they had 45 years on the sign because the true work was done in the first 20 years by old council.

lets me honest, they failed big time with housing, they failed with safety, we get close to zero government help for housing, over 300 apartments were built with government funds within our community and one Lubavitcher lives in any of them.

lets talk about benefits we DID get, Chadida and his family on the past 15 years were the recipients of over 730 apartments withing in crown height for NOTHING.

the sperlins, Freidfretik and others all stole buildings that we meant for CH.

never mind that the sperlins and drizins all have the worst types of tenants who vandalize and are criminals without making any effort to clean house.

how many of out people were helped with a government job? besides for Eli Slavin?

how did this “honored group” allow outsides and insiders come in her and make housing impossible to afford for us and our non Jewish neighbors alike?

in addition these same people took our great Badatz and destroyed it to what we have now a split and destroyed it to the nothing it is now.

  • Another whiner

Wow, I am sure there is some good they have done. I don’t believe all that you wrote is true.

  • we left and you should too

    Move from Crown heights…

I moved away to a home I could afford in a safe neighborhood, with a great school and nice shul…yah there are politics everyhwre but crown heights leadership of this monkey business organizations take corruption to a new low

perhaps the next generation with people like yaakov behrman can turn things around…

I love crown heights but after seeing these photos
I can assure you I do not miss it…

to all commentators, I have heard people complain that anything there is a politician that wants to help everyone sends them to chanina as no one else wants to step up so by default he gets them.

Listen webby. Put jay’s comment as a article. Worded differently. He has a great point that needs to be made. It will probably also bring in a slew of comments both for and against

  • I second # 19's Comment

Yaacov Behrman was the only Jew on Community Board 9 to show up and vote against both of the Mayor’s Upzoning Plans (ZQA & MIH) which takes away our parking, and only requires 2 BR, 1 BR & studios.

Draft Yaacov Behrman for the next CHJCC.
